My forays into the world of eye makeup.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

I really was hoping to buy one at a time...but if I have to I will buy both.

Also, do you have any ideas for a specific gold color shadow? I am looking for a gold that pops out which I can blend in with another color and black. Or maybe I can ask how to make gold pop?

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

I just bought two holiday packs from MAC and I believe I got both these brushes. They do come with smaller handles but at least I have them. Maybe you could look into that.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

Are you looking for particular kind of gold eye shadow or do you want ideas for a gold eye makeup look?

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

A gold colored shadow that is obvious but also blends well with say a red, green or blue. A particular kind of gold shadow basically.

Yeah so…I forced another sister to be my guinea pig today:

And we dressed her up as a dulhan too…lol

I think I am done with the shading bit...now to eyeliner, brows and definition.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

you guys are all so very beautiful, how did you do your undereye makeup, it looks flawless, like what foundation did you use and by any chance did you use any concealer, if so what brand and shade? i personally dont know how to do eye shadow makeup and i’m hunting for a good brand of foundation and concealer since i rarely use both.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

…OMG THAT IS GORGEOUS! You and your sister’s eye shape and structure is SO similar! Now I wish I had a sister who I could do makeup on. :frowning:

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

Wow, mashaAllah, you have really pretty eyes and I love the way u’ve done the eye makeup!

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

I wish my sister would be my guinea pig, that sounds like so much fun! and the eye makeup is perfection!

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

CE! that was just a sample picture I posted...it's Marwah :D

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

Uh oh..

Okay everyone...this is Marwah, just had a name change! and that's not me, just a picture I found on the internet :)

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

This would be much easier to show than just explain online…so I went on paint and painted how I would have done the eyeliner. The outer V that you created with the darker eye shadow should be your guideline as to how far out to take eyeliner.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

Niceeeeee! ^ I love that! I am looking for a dummy for today! If I find one, I am posting a redo or something that focuses more on liner.

Thank you ladies...this has been one of the most fun learning experiences EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

Ooooh, u changed ur name?x

Reha will u be doing bridal makeup? If so have u looked into doing some kind of bridal course?

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

I will be doing bridal makeup.

The problem is...in my area...there are no such courses. We have makeup courses but they don't focus on desi-style bridal makeup application. In fact, one certified makeup artist I spoke to about teaching at my salon was telling me how she has to convince most of her clients to wear eyeliner. Ummm...who doesn't wear eyeliner? Her clients are mostly non-desies...that's why.

Another issue is that people do not like to share. We have some great MUA in our area that do amazing bridal makeup but why would they teach me? Its a sad reality.

So I have to resort to crash courses on youtube, extensive amounts of practice, etc to teach myself. I do about 3-4 people every single day (my sisters, best friends, etc)...I go through tons of product but its worth it if I can eventually deliver what clients want.

Its been a lot of fun...posting here, getting feedback and being guided by everyone. You guys are amazing...it helps me so much. My hand doesn't shake as much, I can control the brushes better, etc.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

^that sounds fab Reha! me and u we're both in the same boat......the best thing u can do is just practise, practise, practise and thats how u will improve.....buy a dolly head to practice hair on, and finish ur eye looks off with eye lashes to see what the finish look will look like.x
