My Experience with Razia11235

Hello Ladies,

After seeing Razia11235’s profile here in GupShup and taking a look at her work on Facebook, I decided to buy 2 dresses from her since I am here in US and she stated that she is in New Jersey. You will see from my screen shots that I chose 2 outfits from her site which I sent her photos of and also a photo of a color that I wanted one of my dresses to be.

Please notice from the very beginning of my communications, I did not ask for any design changes only **color **changes.

Here is my original message to her:

To: ForDesi Dresses

Hi Razia,

I would like to inquire about having 2 dresses made. I am interested in the prices and how long it would take to make the red dress as is, but in scarlet red (red-orange), and if the dupatta is going to look like the one in the photo?

For the second dress, I like the style of the green as is, but in the mango-yellow photo’s color combinations.

The red and green are from her Facebook site, you can see it in my screen shots, and the mango color I found on another site. Here are the photos I sent her:

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

did u get the dresses?

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Not yet. So anyway, I didn’t finish writing as I had to go to an appointment.

So I made the inquiry above on May 11. She replied on May 12. I filled in the order form she sent to me and described what I wanted which was this:

For the green dress I wanted the ***only *** change the to be: Mango Yellow as shown in photo and also fuschia pink, golden orange,
and turquoise colors embroidery on neckline of anarkali as shown in the maroon dress
(

http://www.paklinks.com/gs/attachment.php?attachmentid=6124&d=1308768424

)

For the red dress I wanted: Scarlet red color and if I couldn’t have the exact dupatta in photo, I asked for a gold one with
scarlet red and gold embroidery (light embroidery work on the edge) as shown in this light green dress
(

)

So, I made a 50% deposit payment through PayPal on May 13, only 2 days after making the inquiry. I received a message on May 17 from her that they received my deposit payment.

On June 4 I received a message that my dresses were finished and to make a final payment. So I asked to see a photo of the finished dresses. I received a message back on June 5 that taking photos is not their priority and that “whenever we get a chance to have pics we will send you asap.” This was my first time making an order with her, and I personally did not feel comfortable to pay the rest of the money without first seeing my order. So I wrote: “As soon as I see the photos of the dresses I can send the other half of the money.”

We went back and forth about it and I had to wait a week to see the photos and this is what I saw:

Green dress copy:

Red dress copy:

http://www.paklinks.com/gs/attachment.php?attachmentid=6126&d=1308768426

I was extremely happy with the red dress as it looked like almost an exact match I did not like the dupatta they put with it as I wanted the exact one in photo otherwise I wanted to have the golden one on my order form made. Although I like the color of the green dress changed to mango, I feel that the design of the neck of the dress has been changed. On the original there is clearly some type of see through net on the photo, and in my order you can see it has a pink color where there is no color at all in the photo from her site.

On June 11, they asked me if I wanted work on all 4 sides of dupatta. I paid the last money on June 11. I inquired on Monday June 20 if my order had been sent yet and they told me this: “you requested to change the dupatta and we told you very clearly it could delay your order and you were agreed. We do not have any problem, we are working as usual as following the procedure. We will ship your order by monday and give you the tracking # once we get it.” By the way I looked through my history and, I was not told there would be any delay.

So I am waiting for them to finish making the dupatta, and send me my order.

What do you ladies think?

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

the copies look fine to me

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Wasnt June 20th like... 2 days ago? Your order started to be processed on May 17th, which is when you made your initial deposit (or rather, when they received it). And its been just a few days over a month. Unless they specified that it would take a month or less, I would think this is normal and that the clothes are on their way to you. Wait a couple of days and contact them again asking for a tracking number.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Are the materials the same? Tho the copy of the kaam of the red dress looks good, I would be concerned about the material which looks different (unless you specified that it be different).

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Sahar02, I know what you mean. I don't know if the material is the same as I have not yet received the dresses. I only asked that the red dress be scarlet-red colored. I certainly hope to have the same quality material as is seen on the original photo.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Sometimes the photograph doesn't do the picture justice esp with regards to color...it can be very tricky

and with such a patterned duputta, its unlikely to get an exact copy.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

To be honest in the past from other vendors I've received photos of copied dresses and been really upset only for the suit to turn up and actually be amazing.

In your case even the photos look like pretty good copies and nice suits so i wouldn't worry at all!

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Yes, you're right, so I am waiting to see the final products. I will post photos when they come.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

I agree with the girls, the suits look very pretty, and the fact you've not paid the total amount upfront is pretty good too. Keep us posted

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Thanks for the encouragement supersummer. I agree with you - don't get me wrong. It is just that I'm very disappointed by all of that pink in the mango dress. I wasnt' expecting that. I liked the dress just the way it was in the photo and only wanted a different color combination. I have no idea why they put all of that color in there.

It is just wait and see on the final at this point.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Brummiebird, what do you mean by " fact you've not paid the total amount upfront is pretty good too?"

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

you mentioned you paid a deposit of 50% when you first placed the order and paid the remaining balance once the outfits were complete. Alot of vendors expect the full amount to be paid upfront when you first place the order with them. Thats all i meant.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Oh okay, I see.

I normally buy at local Desi boutiques. As this was my first time buying a custom dress online, I didn't know that people paid the full amount before hand. Wow! I think that is a very scary way to do business with custom made - to pay all the money up front.

In the US it is just the normal way to do any type of custom-made business. You put a 50% down for custom the item whether you are having a table made, a website made, painting done, etc. You agree to a finish product date. Eventually the person making the item/doing the work says it's done. You review the item - either by photos online or by physically going to see it. You then make any edits or changes to your liking, and if any of the changes deviate beyond the original design you agree to pay an additional price or fee. Then when the final work is done, you pay the other 50% amount plus shipping if necessary, and the product is delivered to you. I didn't know of any other way to do it other than the way I did it. It is so normal to do business that way, so that is why I asked you what you meant. I understand your meaning now.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

No probs earth :) Yaar your system sounds way more sensible. I think the problem is with companies like western union which charge stupid amounts of commission for money transfers, therefore u end up paying 12 to 18 pounds extra for two separate transactions! I wish they would accept paypal!
Seriously, your outfits do look very cute and supersummer is so right, sometimes u see the pictures and your heart sinks but in reality they look great. fingers crossed.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

I once had an outfit made from cyma345 about 3 years ago.....when I got the pix I was kind of disappointed and hubby said ti was nothing special.... but when I got it, it was absolutely gorgeous and i've gotten so many compliments on it whenever I wear it

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

nice work on making copies :hmmm:

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

Thanks everyone for liking the replicas!

Let me start with the beginning, on May 11 **Ms. Tara Cross called Earth-Childe on GS **asked for these two dresses inquiry. We sent her the detail with an order form right away.

Here is the detail for these two dresses and one of them she needed some color changes

Style: Anarkali style frock with work on neckline and turquoise applique on hems, chooridar and chiffon dupatta

Style: Straight shirt with work on neckline and hems, chooridar and multicolor dupatta (print may be a little different depending the availability) with tussels (If I can’t have the exact dupatta in photo, I prefer a gold one with scarlet red and gold embroidery (light embroidery work on the edge)
Cost: US $275
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.153453644701776.28787.100001114244958#!/photo.php?fbid=192109154169558&set=a.153453644701776.28787.100001114244958&type=1&theater

On May 17 we recieved the 50% initial payment according to our police (Facebook) and started working on the very next day. We are proud to say that we never delay the order but got them ready before 4-6 weeks delivery time so was done with Earth-Childe’s order and on June 4th the dresses were ready to deliver. It is our policy until we have our final payment recieved we do not deliver the dresses. Its never been our commitment to show the dresses pix and then the client pay the remaining balance. Is nt that considerable that you are paying 50% initially plus a favour to US clients that they can send us the personnal check by mail to our US address, and saving Western union/money gram/paypal fee.
Earth-Childe asked to see the dresses pics and said she would pay the balance once seen the dresses pix, we considered her request and took the pics and sent her by email on June 6th… ***though not in our commitment. ***Everyone knows if we go for a professional photograph to get the snaps taken it will not only be time consuming job but an additional expense so we rushed taking dresses pix and unfortunately as there was not enough light due to the electricity problem in Pak a slight difference in color appeared .
Do you fellows see any difference whether we did nt follow the detail a client asked to make the changes in the original one ?

*Another thing, sorry to say… I did nt want to disclose it but Earth-Childe you made me do so. Earth Child has been telling us that paying that much money for the dresses was not easier for her as she is not a rich lady…thats her words uttered on phone…we waived off the additional US $20 applied to XL Size as per US $10/dress.

*After seeing the pix on June 11, she replied that…she was extremely happy seeing the dresses but did nt want that multicolor dupatta instead the golden color dupatta having four sided golden and red work on its edges. We accepted her request though a loss to us…but still we want clients satisfaction to be our top most priority.
Finally we were done with the order by June 18th and recieved the final payment on June 20th. Now tell me friends how long its been recieving the final payment and we did nt deliver the order. On June 22nd we delivered the dresses to her address given in the order form. We do not get the tracking number right away we need at least a couple of days to send the tracking number to our clients by email. I am also posting the tracking number here in GS so that everyone can witness we had mailed the order, 2570879172 by DHL.

Re: My Experience with Razia11235

I received the order yesterday evening, but there were a few problems with it, so I sent the order back to her today, and Razia and I are working together to resolve the problems.

I will post an update once the situation is completely resolved.
