It's not big deal if a DIL doens't know how to cook. We are learning all the time anyway ,everyday we learn something new. I knew the basics when I married, but never became totally confident with cooking until I came into my own home and I had to cook for my hubby and myself. Mashallah I am so good at it now, i am soon starting my own blog with recipes to share with the world.
Its not really necessary to learn how to cook. My mother always says after marriage it automatically comes for a girl as she has no choice but to cook for her family.
And now theres all those shan masala recipes on the back and we have the internet (just need to follow the instructions).
even i dunno how to cook..i am getting married in a few months…i never though in-laws can think of sending the DIL back just bcoz she doesnt know how to cook:bummer:
Why would you send DIL to maika for this?? Instead take the other way and work with her and teach her so that she can learn gradually and cook in future.
Why dont you teach you son and your daughter in law how to cook? They both eat dont they. If you send her home because she doesnt know how to cook, will you send her home if she doesnt have a baby boy too?
you should have made sure she could cook before the wedding, you didn't so either you could give her cooking lessons yourself or get used to ordering out for food lol.
Yes absolutely send her back, why should you slave over the stove to teach her?
Send her back to maika for 2 months..... aur bolna "jaao apni ammi sai khaana banana seekho, phir wapis aana" .... I think a couple of months should be sufficient to learn cooking :p
P.S. Thanks for this thread, it made me smile and I'm in a real grumpy mood
