llxxll I hate u for being so creative! lol… I can’t believe u designed the jewellery urself as well! And I must say ur the first bride I have seen wearing a double lehenga with that western style train.

Your input has been really important in reinforcing what I was trying to say through this thread… my aapi didn’t have any heavy dresses (compared to yours) but your pics reinforce the idea that it is possible to have beautiful designer-like dresses without going to a designer and while staying within a reasonable budget.

So thanks a million for the input!

PS: If I need to make a lehenga at any time in the future, I think I’ll copy your train idea! (love the pic below)

Oh and I forgot to say that llxxll you were totally lucky to have the dress made exactly as u wanted it to be… I mean thankfully the boutique didn’t mess it up!

You must have been really really thorough in explaining and drawing sketches etc. The experiences that I’ve had with tailors and boutiques in pakistan have been not so good 90% of the times!

They mess up the fitting etc. very easily you know. You were very brave to trust them with your dress, especially with the net material.

Which boutique did u get it made from??

for valeema dress i went to instyle sarees in rabi center on tariq road, karachi
for baraat it was palki boutique in liberty market, lahore

i made 2-3 trips to these ppl to make sure they got everything correct and yes my drawings were extremely thorough and i didnt leave the stores until i made sure the person dealing with me got exactly what i was trying to explain

the man who made my valeema lehnga (the owner) said that it was a special piece and he stood and especially supervised the tailor so there were no mistakes

^^ i wudnt go as far as calling them "stupid" everyone has their own taste, and what they like, also depends on budget....its like u really want a vera wang but can have a karma/HSY/maria b/bunto etc etc instead....thats how i see it anyway...and also MOST important as a bride its abt wot makes u happy.....now i dnt like the dresses but wot ive noticed abt the brides in this thread AND the other thread with desigher bridals, they all have a big smile regardless of what they are wearing....so u and i cannot be the judge of anything.....as long as the bride is happy.... :)
