"Mut'a

IMOH. An American Ladie’s opinion.

Seems like a hadith (excuse) for a man to get laid for a period of time without having any responsibility towards his partner, or to put it bluntly (temporary wife).

Shias who follow Muttah are not mainstream Islam. (less than 20% of the 1.3 billion Muslims)) Mutaah has been termed as a form of adultery by most of the scholars!

Re: "Mut'a

Seems like you've dug up a lot of old threads on the subject.....

Does their religion allow it(getting laid without a marriage license)?

AAG :flower1:

You stated the word “excuse” right after the word “hadith” - i am not certain if that means you were confused about the meaning of the word “hadith”. Just incase, the “hadith” is a collection of the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The word itself, generally, means news, report or narration.

Edited: Back to your original question - within Islam, mutah (temporary marriage) is allowed amongst Shias. Majority of Sunnis (not all) adopt a different view towards this issue.

Back to your original question - no, temporary marriage is not sanctioned in Islam.

You mean the Islam of khilafat hungry people..people who did not bother to attend Prophet's (pbuh) funeral..who disobeyed Prophet (pbuh) and ignored His instructions..who fought with the Holy Family of Prophet (pbuh)..who innovated many things in Islam..i can go on and on

umm yeah AAG according to this Islam temp marriage is not sanctioned in Islam

Re: Re: Re: "Mut’a

 i am honestly sorry, Sheraz, i am not certain i understand what your point is… that it IS allowed or it’s not?

Nadia

Shia's believe Mutah was allowed during the time of Prophet (pbuh)...but it was Umar who stopped it..some sunni also believe that and some sunni believe that it was Prophet Mohummad (pbuh) who later banned mutah
i dont care what anyone thinks or believe but US shia's only follow Quran, Prophet(pbuh) and His Holy Family
If something was allowed by Prophet (pbuh), who am i to say anything against it
You might wanna read more about it

ah, now i understand. Thank you for clarifying it.

i respect your views (and have for some time), and i do not want to get into an argument particularly when it is about sensitive religious issues that you and i both hold equally close to our hearts. i am sure we can agree to disagree? :flower1: :flower1:

mutah is not a big deal...you have to look at the big picture...sometimes some things dont make sense at first....like why can we have more then one wife....but you can only have more then one wife if you treat them equally...is it easy to treat everyone equally? it wouldnt be for me so i wont bother trying it...anyways to american girl it still might not sound right...but there were lengthy discussions on mutah, you can take a look at those if u feel like :)

Thanks, Sheraz  That makes sense.

By the way, i edited my reply to AAG above… i think my original comment was too exclusive and judgemental.

i hope i haven’t offended anyone in this thread - i sincerely apologize if i have :flower1: :flower1: Regards,
nadia

Muta'h... hmmmm...

do it man.. if u feel like doing it...

meanwhile the muslimz are fighting for credibility of mutah's (sex) lets just do it.........

anyways its gonna be revealed on day or resserection... so do whatever you think is right according to your interpretetion of relegion.. .

lets see, wheather our decesion is right, and in case its not Allah accepts our excuse.. which seems to be no case :P

cheerss.

From what I know, Mut'a is forbidden in Islam.. it was one of the pagan practices which existed amongst the Arabs in the days before Islam, it is well established that temporary marriage does not agree with the interests of people because it destroys a womans dignity and honour, it belittles the value of a woman whom Allah (swt) has honoured. So temporary marriage was forbidden by the Prophet (pbuh). Yet some shiaas still believe in it.

Seems like you have no idea of what are you talking about.... Lets get it straigth... its not just for a man

and yeah there is no way you can compare the practice with prostitution or just getting laid off.....

  1. You have to pay haq mehar as in anyother marriage.

  2. Kids inherits from their father.

American gal... can you please tell me what makes mutah different from a marriage that can end as a divorce....

I mean if you marry someone and leave her after a while and

  1. pay her haq mehar

  2. kids get the inheritance from father

Watzz next ... the scholars are going to rule out the clause of divorce????? following the sunnah of their khaleefa's who have been introducing bidats.

If the whole concept of temporary marriage seems like an excuse to you.. what does the idea of two people getting married... the guy gets to laid off and then giving her a divorce after a period of time sounds to you????.... Is it also some sorta excuse for them....?

sister research on the topic before you start making judgements... if something was introduced in islam by prophet.. they know the best..... who are we to rule it out or your so called khaleefa's??? what right do they have to rule something out or introduce bidat's.

Good Point Man....

Re: Re: "Mut’a

I think these are the points which really separate it from prostitution. Many people just “hear” about Muta that it is a “short” marriage and its like one night stand etc. I myself didn’t know that the children born out of Muta marriage are entitled to the same rights as regular marriage, may be it was mistake on my part to not learn everything about such issues.

Thanks for the info :k:

changez there is so much info i wanna share with you but its hard online so why dont u visit me some day

Re: Re: Re: "Mut’a

No Problem Man !

I am glad it cleared things up for you.
