i think there is something to the idea that star news tailor such news items for Pakistani consumption. I know many pakistanies, including me, are absolutely delighted when we see these kinds of reports. It certainly made my day.

Well said! I couldn’t agree with you more. The Indian fans were giving us crap over “the Oval fiasco” and now they are the ones talking about boycotts and abandonments. And Bhajji needs to realize that his team can’t walk the walk so shut up and play the game in good spirits. Australia has always sledged but if you beat and outperform them, their words won’t get to your heads! Too bad (or too good) that Australia are just far too superior than Indian team talent wise and mental strength wise as well.

Although It can take post after post to describe that, let me sum it up

Daryll Hair accused Pakistan of being cheaters without any credible evidence of ball tempering and struck Pakistan with penalty of 5 (??) runs. Pakistan delayed their return to the field after tea in protest against Hair and when they came back to field Hair decided not to continue the game and awarded the game to Eng without even consulting Match referee.

Although match officials (Umpires, Match referee etc) are there to make everything possible for the game to go on, Hair did everything possible to bring the game to abrupt end.

^^Did they(pak team management) fought against hair.way back in 90's i remember he having some problem with murali and arjuna ranatunga walked off from the field with the team i suppose against england(if im correct).was he the same hair?
