Well ppl… I thought I’d join the bandwagon to state my top choices in movies… this time around… its my list of Must Watch Indian Flicks – and since I happen to be lucky enough to share my taste in movies with a couple of other fellow guppies, I’d be interested to know what’s on their list.
Saddz… Kaka… c’mon over…

Category 2: Contemporary Movies Worthy a Mention (in no particular order):
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
ChurailBano,
Lawaris was a good one… but not in my top 10 list…
Mother India, I haven’t seen yet, but have heard a lot.
Saddz,
You’re one of the few who shares my taste in movies, so I knew I’d like what you’d post
I just included Muqaddar Ka Sikandar in Amitabh’s list… definitely in his top 10 :k:
Bemisaal? I think I’ve seen it when I was like 6/7… something to do with doctors?
ohh… and I like a few of the Rajesh Khanna flicks, but somehow hate Manoj with a passion, but I admit to having a bias towards him cuz of his real-life personality… he’s a die-hard anti-Muslim fanatic / hard-core nationalist - notice how many movies his name is “Bharat” ?
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
yeah.. some of amitabhs movies arent really all that great.. but just cus hes in them, its like a blockbuster
hey Umar, u could add his “Kaala Pathar” in it and i guess “Do Anjaane”
Yeah Bemisaal was about doctors.. but it was more the relationship Rakhee and Amit’s character shared that made it a worthwhile watch.. ive hardly ever heard people talk about this movie though..
u have awesome taste in movies too… u should see my sisters taste.. it revolves around movies like “ishq vishq pyaar vyaar” and “dil maange more” :halo:
oh how about “Bombay”, “Pinjar” (again manoj bajpai), “Dil Chahta hai”, “Lagaan”
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
o.k. Sadzz... I'll try to catch Bemisaal sometime.
Pinjar, DCH and Lagaan would definitely be in my contemporary favorites...
talking about Manoj Bajpai, you gotta watch Shool (a bit of guy's flick though, but awesome acting).
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
Naam :k: … Vaastav is o.k. (the movies I have in those categories, I can watch over and over… Vaastav unfortunately I can’t).
Naseeb again is one of those commercial Big B flicks that I like but I don’t think its a favorite. I have about 30 Amitabh flicks but only about 10 are worth mentioning.
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
haha true.. yeah i actually only watched Vastaav cus my bro was raving on about it... Naseeb yeah, its just a fun flick... its not like i guess Kabhi kabhi aur even Kaala Pathar u can watch
hey u didnt mention Amitabhs "Majboor" either.. another good movie.. a bit of a different story though..
hmm lemme think what else i have... i have a lot of new crappy stuff for my sis.. she doesnt understand the value of old movies
Prem Geet
Prem Rog
Betaab (ok i dont have this one in the box.. but wouldnt mind having it)
Hero (the old one)
Woh 7 Din (classsssic movie.. tis halarious cus of its simplicity)
Tezaab (i know i know..)
Khal Nayak ??
theres a few more i just cant remember names of... hmm
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
^ when'd you watch it sadzzz? its not all that confusing.
Vidhata was the first movie I "ever" watched... I would've been like four :) watched it a couple of times during childhood without being able to appreciate the art that the movie embodied.
I love the HaathoN ki chandd lakeeroN ka... yeh khel hai subb taqdeeroN ka song.
Re: Must Watch Indian Flicks (Serious Posts Only!)
umar i think i watched it about 2 years ago.. i cant even remember... i must have been doing 10 things at once or maybe sanjay dutt's youth was a distraction hehe i dunno
i just remember going "oooh aaaah" as soon as id see another big name enter the frame.. soo many great actors in that movie..
u were that young when u watched it! wow... my first evern curry movie was "Coolie".. it will always be special to me.. "Allaaaaaaahhh Rakha" (i loved that part)
