^ chanda, pluralism has nothin got do with secularism. You are referring to democracy. And hte term is factionalism, factionalism works to the favor of the minorities because it allows for deliberation, which means watered down legislation to prevent the majority from running over the minority with idiotic laws, i.e. shariah for example.
