Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Actually, you missed the insolent sarcasm on my part inregards to the thread title.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Haha, reading some of the thread about USA torture, WOw those pictures are really horrendous. Imagine if USA was like Pakistan allowing Taliban to freely walk and talk on the streets . Imagine if USA had women who were mistreated as they are under the Islamic fundamentalists who support Taliban. Imagine , dare imagine if USA permitted honor killings. Imagine if fathers, brothers, uncles, grandpas killed their daughter for falling in love outside their idea of who she should fall in love with. Imagine USA where a father, brother, uncle , etc etc is allowed to slaughter their daughter if she is raped to save the family honor based on a hymen. Imagine just spending three years in prison maximum for honor killing.

WOW AMERICA, see the freedoms you to can enjoy. Imagine the freedoms Benazir Bhutto saw on her trip to Pakistan.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

despite all it's claim of being modern and free , the west has the most rigid and conformist culture.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Interesting opinion, can you expand?

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Isn't it the same Pakistan backed by the USA and supported the up-rise of these Talibanis, when USSR was trying to win the war on OIL?

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

So US shouldn't support a country that has these type of hymen issues? Whether they back them or not, how doe that change anything about which country is more free? Yet another distracting, irrelevant post.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Îf you just would have had a glimpse at uberalles post you would notice the link to my post. But as you have always failed to understand my post, It is no surprise you are whining about this one too.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Read it. Re-read it. Your post is still distracting and irrelevant. If one country supporting another is an argument in which is more free to speak their mind, then this whole thread is meaningless.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

If your US of A had let us act on our owns and wouldnt have had interfered all the years, we wouldnt have had a dictator ruling our country. We enjoyed some freedom at his times, but he also gave us headache when violating against human rights. Therefore even though we have a dictator, one who is USA backed, we enjoy more freedom in criticizing our own government, then some cowboy in texas who might oppose the Government the very next day and being jailed at the next hidden torture chamber for treason and made responsible of having some links to Al-Qaida.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

First of all, it is a farce that there is more freedom to speak your mind in Paksitan than in US - totally ridiculous. Tell the suffering minorities of Pakistan - christians, hindus, sikhs, ismailies ,and shias about freedom of speech. Tell us about blasphemy laws. Tell it to the corpse of Benazir Bhutto. Tell us about the liberties of the people where a dictator took control of the government and dismissed the legislative assemblies. A country where people's fundamental rights of life and liberty can be suspended and lawyers can be moved prisons in solitary confinement, etc, etc. Comparing the rights to speak your mind in the 2 countries is so ridiculous that it's not even worth typing about.

But now you are saying, as with every other less-than-perfect leader of a Muslim country, it is the US fault. US had nothing to do with Musharraf seizing power.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Where everything which is government based is done by phone calls of Condi Rice at 02:00 am in the morning. Dont forget that!
And for your information this discussion is about the average Pakistani not some dictator who is ready shoot to kill any one who comes into his ways.
Getting it? No you are not.

Joke of the century. Please post that at Jokes forum, so we can all enjoy the fun. No wonder people like you believe in perfect democracy and all human rights and freedom only existing in America and nowhere else!

We all know it is the US fault that they are the main reason most countries around the globe have become democratic except for the Muslim countries

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Never seen dollar drop so much in a matter of a couple of days. Is anyone else keeping up with that?

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Fine, when there is no answer. Then I can only expect such responses from you. Nothing new.

Absolutely, like Cuba. Like China, like DRN etc...

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

** most - adjective: the greatest number or the majority of a class specified.**

Of the world’s 192 countries, 121 are electoral democracies. However, only 11 of the 47 nations (23 percent) with an Islamic majority have democratically elected governments. In the non-Islamic world, which comprises 145 states, 110 are electoral democracies (75 percent). Therefore, a non-Islamic state is over three times more likely to be democratic than an Islamic state. None of the 16 Arab states of the Middle East and North Africa is a democracy.

The most revealing and relevant finding in this year’s analysis is the democracy deficit in the Islamic world, especially in its Arabic core.
“The reality in much of the Islamic world is that democratic voices are opposed not only by tyrannical regimes but also by powerful Islamic political forces, some of them supported by the power of the mosque, which often promotes antidemocratic and anti-Western viewpoints,” said Mr. Karatnycky.

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

seminole,

freedomhouse is a right-wing republican institute like the american enterprise institute. It doesn’t have alot of crediblity.

I will tell you what Muslims want, I am a Muslim I have lived half of my life in a Muslim country and half in a non-muslim. I have seen the world from many perspectives. Muslims do want democracy, one that is not imposed on us by foreigners. We want a democracy where we elect our own leaders, who would also respect our culture, morals. we will not have a amsterdam-style democracy which would legalize homosexual lifestyle, simply because most Muslims are against It.

Please leave muslim countries alone. Only we muslims can solve our own problems. We will overtime achieve a eastern-favored democracy. Please stop supporting dictators in our countries. Please don’t interfere in our internal affair’s and there won’t be any bad feeling towards your country. In my pakistan we now have a democracy, in which people who are hostile to musharraf got elected. Concentrate on your country. Make america better for poor people, and let us fix our country ourselve

Re: Muslims are MORE free to speak their mind in Pakistan then they are in US

Well said! Seminole needs a trip to Pakistan to understand ground reality. Baseless assumptions do lead to nothing.
