If someone expresses disgust against Muslim practices, that’s their opinion. Homosexuality is a political issue, you are trying to suppress dissent with political blackmail.

Someone “expressing their disgust at Muslim practices” (where it wasn’t even that, but just pointing out irony) got you acting like calling out homophobic Muslims is a human rights violation, so clearly it isn’t just an opinion to you. I have problem with linking expression of disgust for homosexuality with denial of right to safety and security of Muslims. That is a pretty big issue. In a broader context, this has been happening in many other areas, for example Muslims being asked to give up their claim to rule their lands if they want to live in peace. Conditioning people’s political rights with their safety and security, is political blackmail. Many vegans say they find people who eat meat disgusting. I don’t mind that nor deny their rights to safety and security.

Here is the thing: you are REEing about the political blackmail of Muslims over a little keyboard spat where someone pointed out the irony of homophobic Muslims (especially those that live in the the west). That is literally it. Literally no one is going over to your home and forcing you with a weapon to be pro-LGB if you want legal protections. Instead, someone created a thread pointing out the irony of people who dehumanize gay people (especially in The West) using bad logic that can be used against them as a group. No one is justifying anything. How many times are you going to REE about “herp derp that is blackmail.” It’s not. The example of overzealous vegans is even more dumb because vegans…are not a group that has major political power. They are a fringe group whose opinions affect no one outside of their group. But homophobic Muslims? All you have to do is travel to any Muslim-majority country to see what rabid homophobia + political power can do.

The most dehumanized demographic today are Muslims and such tactics are used to further infringe upon their rights. You use worse words for Muslims and Pakistanis. You made Southie’s OP out to be worse than it actually was because you seem to take anything that could be considered a “criticism” (even if it isn’t) as some kind of attack on the entire Muslim populace as a whole. You completely missed the point and already went out into defense mode because trying to start a conversation at all even a little is some kind of attack. It is pathetic. I haven’t insulted or belittled Pakistanis or Muslims, but just pointed out the truth. Muslims are a dehumanized group, yes…in the West. Yes, goray will definitely use societal ills of Muslim-majority countries to dehumanize and justify why x and y should be done to Muslims (which isn’t right)…but those societal ills are not made out of thin air and I don’t shy away from pointing them out. I belong to the Pakistani community and was raised Muslim. I especially have the right to criticize my community and if you think that is “hatred” then LMAO.

Only Western-approved Muslims are acceptable to you. If you were genuine, you would’ve also condemned non-Muslims with the same vigor for the injustices done by them against Muslims in various parts of the world. This is a true shining example of what happens when desis are confronted with a societal ill in their society. Always wanting to do the the good ol’ Whataboutism when someone brings up a very real problem in the society.
