Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Medical professionals get scared to lose their licenses. That shows it was a political move, not a scientific one. In scientific decisions the dissent is in tiny single digits.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Who exactly said what about LGBT?

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

I would hope that people with outdated views on something would lose their licenses. You really seem to not understand how any of this works, huh? There have been many beliefs in the past that were created/agreed with because of prejudice (e.g. race realism). No sh*t that during a time period where homophobia was unapologetic there would be a lot of people who would believe homosexuality is some kind of mental disorder. This is like looking to Western scientists in the 18th century and asking them about their views on non-white people and their capabilities.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

See the thread titled “the hypocrisy of liberals”

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Those who suppress LGBTs are just scared their own kids may turn into LGBT if they embrace it. On the top of it, religion provides a cover, which ofcourse can be used today for accomplishing literally any possible goal, regardless of morality. Its a global thing. The whole world has taken a giant leap towards conservatism

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Anyways, Southie did raise a pretty important point. A lot of homophobic Muslims like to sht on gay people using bad science and/or stats and religious dogma. The same type of shtty grasp of certain subjects can easily be used as a reason why we should be barred from entering countries.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Those issues were resolved with scientific evidence, that was not the case with homosexuality. It was and is being silenced by political pressure and threats to people’s livelihoods. Just as wanting to be a jungle cat is not enough, so isn’t this stuff.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

are you and @Southie saying that for some homophobic Muslims, ALL muslims should be punished, like as you per your post, banning from entering countries? Etc.

I doubt if Southie had this point

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Obviously not.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

You bringing this up is you implicitly saying that there is some kind of proof that homosexuality is a mental disorder. What is it then? If if has to use religious backing then it doesn’t count.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Precisely. First of all this whole thread makes zero sense. The comments were made by a poster who is not American. His views stem from a country that is not secular yet here here we are, using his remarks to throw accusations on the entire Muslim population. :disgust:

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Hmm. Lets go back to earlier post. Why should “same type of .. grasp” be used against muslims to be barred from entering countries? Isnt it obvious that if someone wants muslims to be banned, they really dont need a solid reason?
For example, you are from south. You know whats happening in Austin. Is the culprit muslim? No. Will anybody check which religion they belong to, and if they by any chance did, will they ban that religion? No. So its clear that muslims are hated for the sake of hate and punished for the sake of punishment.

Exactly just like this thread brought muslims in the picture despite knowing the fact that
(a) LGBT has equal opposition in all religions in particularly Christians, hindus, etc
(b) There are a ton of muslims specially those who are living abroad who are vocal in support of LGBT rights.

So how in the world can we link everything to muslims and say “can easily be used as a reason why we should be barred from entering countries”??

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

I don’t think you derailed the thread at all! You have made some excellent points.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Do you know what prompted Southie making this topic? It was a homophobic remark someone made in that hot ass mess topic “The hypocrisy of liberals.” If you read this thread, you see another user using stupid logic that essentially dehumanizes gay people and me going back and forth with that person. The type of mentality that the user I’m going back and forth with has towards gay people is the same type of mentality other groups have towards Muslims. The same type of stupidity can easily be turned back at us. That is my point.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Neither of us said such a thing. If one reads Isaidwhatisaid comment carefully, it is clear what was being said. That others with similar bigoted views could use this as a reason to institute bans. What goes around comes around.

One should also point out that no one in that thread (other than me) pointed out the bigotry against the LGBTQ community. While several were quick to point out the “racism”against South Asian men. (Personally I don’t distinguish between Pakistan and rest of South Asia hence I changed to south Asian)

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Looks like there are comprehension issues in play here. No one “threw accusations on the entire Muslim population”

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

I dont have any problem with Southie’s initial post as he explained he is asking only those who are challenging LGBT community’s rights. But I do have problem with anyone trying to make it as a judgement on entire muslims and use it for reasons like, barring them from entering the country. How can these two relate? It just doesnt make any sense. I dont want to go in circles but I think my last post explains it well.

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

You have replaced “can easily be used against” to “should be used against”.

Clearly there is a world of difference between the two statements. Either you deliberately did this to misrepresent what was said, or you accidentally did so.

Either way, your understanding of what was said is not even close to reality

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Southie, I know my first language is not English but i’m sure i can comprehend whats being said. May be you need to ready my 2nd last post again where I said if someone has to constitute bans they can do so without any reason. You want me to explain that Austin b0mbings example again?

Now the statement "The same type of shtty grasp of certain subjects can easily be used as a **reason *why we should be barred from entering countries." is not what you said. If you are trying to make it look better then its a different story

Re: Muslim women file a lawsuit for being forced to take off hijab

Once again you have not understood what was being said. Or you have deliberately misrepresented what was said. “The same type of STUPIDITY” can easily be turned back at us. Is NOT the same as “make it as a judgment on entire Muslim population”. Isaid.., was simply pointing out that other similarly bigoted folks could also use similar bigotry against Muslims. isaid didNOT say it SHOULD be used against Muslims.
