Muslim view of the Bible

*"Brothers" does not imply that the Prophet should be a an Israelite. The children of Isaac(AS) are the Jews and the children of Ishmael(AS) are the Arabs[which include Muhammad(SAWS)].

Ishmael(AS) dwelled in the presence of the jews. The following verse calls Ishmael(AS) the brother of all the jews.

"He (Ishmael) shall dwell in the presence of all his brethern." (Genesis16:12)

Therefore, Ishmael (AS) and all his children [including Muhammad(SAWS)] are the brothers of the jews.

Where as the christians are the children of the Jews. The verse says that the Prophet who would be like Moses(PBUH) would be "among his bretheren" not "among his children". Therefore Muhammad(SAWS) fits into it and Jesus(PBUH) doesnot.*

Wasn't Abraham father to both Issac and Ishmael?

And where not? Whether brothers or children of brothers... Doesn't that make us all brethren?

Doesn't that make us all related? Thus children of God? ( I know you find this a shirk statement.) but..think a moment.

Wasn't my idea, or yours. Was Gods idea.

I do not find us that different. Not at all.

This is taken from Sahih Bukhari -its a reference guide that some muslims use(not all).

Volume 9, Book 92, Number 460:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

The people of the Book used to read the Torah in Hebrew and then explain it in Arabic to the Muslims. Allah's Apostle said (to the Muslims). "Do not believe the people of the Book, nor disbelieve them, but say, 'We believe in Allah and whatever is revealed to us, and whatever is revealed to you.' "

Love that.

Smart man..that Abu Huraira.

Cannot debate wisdom.

AvgAmericanGirl,

Abu Huraira(RA) didnt say this, he is merely quoting what the Prophet(SAW) said. Sorry for the confusion. smile

Good question. Would God Almighty permit adultrations of his words? PERIOD.

By Anyone?
No..he would not.

I truly believe he would not. This is why he showed himself to all of us in the ways we are able to understand.

If I may make a point~~~>

So many have done their best to discredit beliefs.. Why? Thing is.. God brought us our beliefs and his commands on how to follow them. If one believes in God's Words. His infalibility...one would know.. he is with us all.

Number one command is?
You (To all people) shall not kill.

**AvgAmGirl
God let the world run according to its nature. what nature?? Human nature and the law of world.

The reason why Bible and torah was corrupted(adulterated) was because the mechanism to preserve the holy text(god's word) was non-existence in the time of prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses and Prophet Jesus.

1400 years ago, mankind had reach a stage where it was possible to preserve the text and the message of Al mighty God. Multi-Religion is not a competition among each other to vie for the most professors of a religion but it is a stage for a final completion of final religion Al-Islam. Every religion on this earth originated from Almighty God and every religion was corrupted by devious people who had ulterior motive. **

I Apologize. I have to disagree with your statement.

God.teaches us what? That he is the alfa and the omega..of all people.

Is the Quran morally different than the bible?

I cannot hazard a guess on why God showed himself to us so absolutely the same and at the same time so differently.

I believe God knows humans for what they are.. human.

I think that God operates on the above assumption.

My heart tells me that God showed himself to many. I think he still does.

I believe that all of us are a part of his plan. I could not teach you to blieve me. I am not worthy teacher. All I can confirm is what I believe, and I believe God speaks to everyone. Listen to your heart.
