^It has to be someone somewhere telling these brain dead terrorists that Islam allows this. They are probably the ones teaching their own version of Islam according to their own agenda. It becomes a problem for Muslims because these terrorists are telling the world that their actions are justified by Islam and that THIS is jihad. If Muslims collectively do nothing about it, they seem right. So the ones really losing in this situation are the good law abiding Muslims of the world. Something somewhere went terribly wrong that Islam became associated with Terrorism. People like Roman and even myself would look at a lot of Muslim countries with a doubtful eye because they are hardly doing anything to stop terrorism and a lot of their own people support terrorism. How many of our muslim brothers will blink twice because drawing their guns and swords to kill a blasphemer? Not many. That is a problem.

Lot of generalizations there, not unlike the ones Muslims, who think there are no terrorists, make. Would you consider Iyad Allawi, Hameed Karzai etc to be fighting terrorism? Are they not Muslims? The Pakistani army that is conducting operations in North Waziristan, the Iraqis and Syrians fighting ISIS are all Muslims. Not just with arms, but also with fataawas. There are several fatwas by mainstream scholars condemning terrorism and killing innocent people. This concept of ‘silent majority’ comes from the pulpits and is perpetuated by the media. And psuedo-intellectuals like Roman fall for it hook,line and sinker. They repeat stuff like that, as if it is an established truth. I won’t deny there are problems within the Muslim community, but then which community/group doesn’t? But to say that none of us acknowledge them or address them is not smart.

You are grossly generalizing a couple of things. There is war going on in all those Muslim countries where this problem exists. No Muslim country has given free reign to terrorists and their sympathizers. Majority in those counties does not agree with terrorist agenda that is why instead of being rulers in those countries they are committing acts of crimes in their frustration of being powerless. If majority of 1.2 billion( approximately) Muslims starts to believe in what terrorists believe then we all would be running for our lives or may be we would be dead by now.

They definitely did or things wouldn’t have gotten this bad. Years of sympathizing with the terrorists instead of fighting them is not much different than giving them the freedom to recruit more terrorists and plan their future. We have come to know what they are capable of and know what evil looks like so naturally their sympathizers are dropping out. I am just saying that our countries have had a hand in their making and we should admit it. What I am not saying and you are assuming is that I am blaming All 1.2 billion Muslims for terrorism. Terrorists do not act alone. A bigger problem than them are the ones who recruit them and send them to missions. Somehow we overlook that fact and target the small fish: the ones who carry out the acts. They have a system and we have unable to identify it let alone destroy it. I am saying what a politically unaware person would see and say and that is majority of the world.

That is not the point here that we have done little to nothing to stop terrorism. My point was and has been that terrorists do not act alone. There are certain conditions/environment that enable them to do what they do. Our countries, whether you like it or not, have provided them that environment to breed, multiply, and spread. I am not talking about what we are doing about them now, I am talking about what has already happened, kind of like Mr. Hindsight whose job is to tell you what you should have done after it is too late. Acknowledging something is wrong without addressing it is doing nothing about it.

There must be consensus among muslim ulema that violence, injustice and intolerance is wrong. And this idea must be promoted as such, that it becomes prevalent among muslims.

No stoning, no beheading, no sexual slavery, no justification of hatred and violence of any kind in the name of Islam under any circumstances.

Give each and everyone complete freedom of religion.

Your logic probably made sense when these were just random acts. However, when such things start happening with frightening regularity across the world and the only common link between all of them is Islam, this logic just does not cut it. This would be true even if it were Christianity, Hinduism or any other religion.

1-iraq suffered 2 wars… total disintegration…still it took 2-4 years before, extremists groups emerged.
2-pakistan. We were happy till one fine morning there was big war in afghanistan… soviet one… since then thing went down…

or iraqi under sadam…started killing each other…so amreeka said… hmmmm… lets invade iraq…

USA was also involved militarily in Cuba, Korea and Vietnam. I dont see any terrorists coming out of those countries.

Why don’t you take that up as an assignment and figure it out? Start with the protestors at the Lal masjid, editorials in Pakistani press, the operations in North Waziristan and the Iraqis and Syrians that are fighting ISIS.

Those “white” people are not doing it in the name of a belief system (i.e. religion). They are doing it because they are deranged, criminals etc. The day they start doing it “because they are white” then yes, the white people need to speak up.
