Another $50 million from Qatar

Qatar has also opened accounts in local banks to collect popular contributions to support the Palestinian people. Al-Khalifa said that Qatar’s position is clear about this issue, as it will not hesitate to offer direct support to the Palestinian Authority.](http://www.kuna.net.kw/Home/Story.aspx?Language=en&DSNO=852699)

Plus, Arab League has pledged to maintain it’s $55 million a month payment to the PA.

It’s important to support democracy. :k:

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

Democracy? No way, Hamas is in charge, it can't be democracy, it must be suppressed or pressurised enough to accept the existence of doll of the world (Israel).

Libya says it supports Palestinian Hamas: report

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi pledged support for Palestinian militant group Hamas, which faces cuts in Western funding over its refusal to denounce violence against Israel, state news agency Jana said on Friday. The report came after Gaddafi met Hamas leader-in-exile Khaled Meshaal in Tripoli late on Thursday. Meshaal said this week his group will continue to fight Israel and told the United States its Middle East policy would fuel terrorism. Meshaal’s visit to Libya is part of a tour of Arab states to drum up financial aid and political support for Hamas to head the Palestinian government. “The brother leader (Gaddafi) told Meshaal that Libya will continue its support for the Palestinian people and its just cause,” Jana said. Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Abdel-Rahman Shalgam also voiced his backing for Hamas. “We informed them of our support and discussed with them all the existing initiatives (toward a solution to the conflict),” Jana quoted him as saying during talks with Meshaal. The agency gave no more details about Meshaal’s stay and did not say whether he had left Tripoli. Gaddafi says he does not recognize either the Palestinian Authority or the Israeli state. He wants a single state for the two peoples, arguing the land would be too small for two states.

Libya is one of the leading Arab financial backers of the Palestinians

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

^^ It is about time Palestinians wise up. Every Arab country (+Iran) has used and abused Palestinians for their nefarious causes.

Palestinian authority needs $115 million every month. No Muslim country can afford sending that fat check. Of all the pledges so far, the money is barely enough for ONE month. Just ONE month! That's all.

Huway hun dost jinkay tum jaisay
Dushman uska Asman kiun ho

translation: with friends like these, who needs enemies.

p.s. the verse above may need some correction, but ya'll got the point.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

The Arab league alone is sending $55 million a month. ($660 million a year)

Plus individual contributions from countries i.e $50-100 million from Iran, $50 million from Qatar, $35 million from Algeria, $20 million from Saudi Arabia, and others flooding in.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

SB, Arabs+Iran can't run PA in the logn run. The money you mentioned is peanuts. Ultimately big guns like US and EU have to step in with real money. And for that Hamas has to move away from jingoism.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

$660 million from the Arab league annually is not peanuts. It's actually more than the EU gives now. The Palestinian's have survived 50 years without cash from the west, and they will continue to do so.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

survived without cast from the west for 50 years...

perhaps you are referring to the more than 1 billion dollar in aid usa gives to PA each year....

i know, the USA dollar has fallen in value, but didnt know it was that much

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

Perhaps we should remind people of the difference between a “Pledge” and “Cash”. Even now, Hamas is having to remind the Arab League that it must honor it’s commitment:

The Palestinian foreign minister has called on Arabs to fulfil their promises of financial assistance to the Palestinian government.

For their part, Arab officials, at a meeting between Mahmoud al-Zahar and the Arab League headquarters in Cairo on Saturday, urged the Hamas-led Palestinian government to consider an Arab plan to end the conflict with Israel that calls for exchanging land for peace.

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/0222FF98-FDF9-4581-8E63-56660469E024.htm

And it sounds as if the Arab pledge has some strings attached that Hamas at a minimum endorse the peace plan put forward by Saudi Arabia. Hamas is firmly in a corner. If they aqccept the Iranian money, they will be expected to kill as many Israelis as they can, as well as shedding the blood of their own sons and daughters. If they accept the Arab money they will be expected to pursue peace. The only way for them to have both is to tacitly endorse violence with a wink and a nod, and to give lip service to peace.

The Territories, particularly Gaza are on the breakdown of society, and look more like Somalia than anything else. Peace is in the best interest of the people.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

Yes, the Palestinian's survived quite well without a cent from the US between 1948 and 1993.

Hamas is here to stay whether you like it or not - the people's choice.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

Actually Israel created Hamas as a counter-weight to Fatah and the PLO.

Hamas can stay for as long as it wants. But when it continues to pledge to destroy Israel, its leading the Palestinian people down the path of total destruction.

It should renounce violence
It should accept Israel's right to exist.
It should ask that Israel to the 1967 borders
It should ask that the Palestinian refugees be allowed to settle in West Bank and Gaza and not Israel proper.
It should ask that East Jerusalem be given back to Palestine and the Haram-al-Sharif be administered by the UN, so that muslims, jews and christians can all worship there.

If it does all this, Hamas will get its money.

But as for its wet dream for destroying Israel.

Israel will and continue to exist, whether you like it or not.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

So yes, the Palestinian people led by the PLO did survive without a cent from the US between 1948 and 1993. But Israel with $100 billion dollars of aid from the US could not hang onto South Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

how do you know the white man's bas-tard child called "israel" will live forever ?

Israel only lives cause of western support and cause it has military advantage.

America won't be there forever to support israel, America too in the future would fade away in history as a past super power like British empire or Roman empire.

The Muslims are too many for the jewish settlers in palestine to handle, Once israel's sugar daddy AMerica is no longer a super power the jews would sh!t in their pants. Plus the Muslims won't be militarily inferior forever, military balance changes over time.

Palestine was ruled by the Arabs, Ottomans, British, the jewish settlers, and later in the future some other group( most likely Muslims, cause we are so many) would gain control of it. Thats how history works.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

"So yes, the Palestinian people led by the PLO did survive without a cent from the US between 1948 and 1993. But Israel with $100 billion dollars of aid from the US could not hang onto South Lebanon and the Gaza Strip."

--> 100 Billion in US Aid? Israel gets 3 Billion in aid from USA every year since 1979. If we apply some math here, that from 1979 to 2006 is, 81 Billion dollars in total. Acutally, Israel never intended to stay in Southern Lebanon for long anyways. It needed a security preimter because Palestinian terrorists were launching attacks against innocent Israeli civilians from there. When Israel invaded in 1982 and the PLO fled to Tunis, a new terrorist organization took its place, called Hezbollah. With the civil war still raging from 1982-1989, Israel could not leave that preimter. Once the civil war ended, Saadam invaded Kuwait, again forcing Israel to hang on to that area, because Saadam could funnel money and arms in that area. By 2000, Israel withdrew from that because Hezbollah was rendered ineffective, and it no longer needed that security zone and gave it up as a jesture of peace. But Yaaser Arafat, used that as a pretext to launch this intifata which has brought total catastrophe upon his people.

Israel wants peace, and is willing to make major concessions for peace.

As for the Gaza Strip, that was a historic mistake to begin with. 2 million Palestinians and a few thousand Jews. That area should have never been settled and Israel withdrew realizing the demographic problems it faced.

how do you know the white man's bas-tard child called "israel" will live forever ?"

-->When there are still people like you in the muslim world, and no one to oppose it on an intellecutal level, it will live forever.

"Israel only lives cause of western support and cause it has military advantage."

-->What military advantage did Israel have in 1948, when 30,000 Jews fought off 150,000 Arabs. When USA was tied down in the Berlin Air-lift, when UK was bankcrupt, and when USSR was exhausted after world war II?

"America won't be there forever to support israel, America too in the future would fade away in history as a past super power like British empire or Roman empire."

-->Probably, but what makes you so sure that the next great power won't be pro-Israel? Or will not support your genocidial designs like maniacs like Hitler or Ahmedijan in Iran?

"The Muslims are too many for the jewish settlers in palestine to handle, Once israel's sugar daddy AMerica is no longer a super power the jews would sh!t in their pants. Plus the Muslims won't be militarily inferior forever, military balance changes over time."

-->Since the apex of military technology has been reached in Nuclear Weapons. Any attempt to attack Israel will result in Mutually Assured Destruction. That is what kept war from breaking out between USA and USSR during cold war, and India and Pakistan and it will probably keep war from breaking out between Arabs and Israel.

"Palestine was ruled by the Arabs, Ottomans, British, the jewish settlers, and later in the future some other group( most likely Muslims, cause we are so many) would gain control of it. Thats how history works."

-->Not really. Palestine was first ruled by Jews, then the Assyrians, then the Persians, then Alexander the Great, then the Roman Empire, then the Byzantine Empire, then Arabs, then Ottomans, then British, then Jews again.

Since wars of conquest and annhiliation are no longer possible due to world becoming so inter-connected, that a small war on one side of the world can have reprecussions on another side of the world. Maybe in your analogy thats how history used to work, but the world is changing, so your past analysis are no longer relevant.

As for Muslims being so numerous. That is probably true, but how many of them are true muslims? Isn't one of the signs of judgement day, that the number of muslims in the world are going to shrink. That doesn't mean that the number of muslims are going to go down but probalby that the number of practicing muslims will go down. As for overwhelming Israel due to the high number of Muslims.

Israel has more bullets than you have men.

And PS, If you cant debate on a factual level, please don't resort to name calling and insults. Just admit, you don't know what you are talking about. And I will understand.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

They very likely have more mortar, bombs and other ammunition too, I wonder where $81billion (per ur own estimate) went? :hmmm:

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

The 81 billion dollars. 2 Billion is for military aid, and 1 billion is for economic aid.

Egypt receives the same deal. 1 Billion for military aid and 1 Billion for economic aid after they signed the Camp David Peace Accords.

As for where Israel spend its 81 billion dollars.

Well since it recieved 54 Billion dollars in military aid. It went in purchasing F-16 fighters, building new Merkava Tanks, Tavor Assault rifle, and incoprorating high-tech equipment in its armed forces.

It costs a lot of money.

Israel's defense budget is around 9 billion. More than half goes into Salaries for the soldiers in the IDF. The other half is spend maintaing its forces, and the other half is spend on weapons research.

Egypt got 2 billion per year since 1979.

Around 54 Billion dollars. It spend that money on building over 1000 Abrams Battle Tanks, Ah-64 Apache Gunships, F-16 fighter jets, etc...

And the rest it spends on its economy.

As for Israel, since none of the Arab countries trade with Israel nor sell oil to Israel, Israel needs US aid to sustain its economy.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

How many halves do you have in a unit? :hehe:

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

Just because Arab countries don't trade with them they can't sustain their economy? Thats bit weird, how big are the economies of Europe, US, Asia, Australia, Latin US, South Africa etc compared to Arab economies ?

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

The Palestinians have been made into cannon fodder by the Arab and Muslim world. The Islamic governments hide their shortcomings by turning the anger of their misguided people toward a non-existent Jewish threat.

Re: Muslim states come foward and pledge aid to Palestine government

Exactly

by the way,

I meant 1/2, 1/4, 1/4 in regards to the Israeli budget
