Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

What a way to start the new year…

Do we know who are these scholars?

Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

About 70 “Muslim dignitaries and scholars” met for a week to deal with vital moral issues, including those raised by technology. They concluded, for example, that the use of verses from the Koran as cell phone ringtones should be BANNED “because it impinges on the sacred character of the the Holy Book” and not, surprisingly, considering it’s super annoying.

haha, idiots.

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

Saudis are bizzare...

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

I agree with Saudis on this. Qurainic ayahs(word of God) are for reading and understanding.

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

A rag head goes to Europe and reads on the walls of the pissoir

Neitsche: "God is Dead"
God: "Nope ... Neitsche is Dead!"

Rag head shakes his head and says, "For these Europeans ... God really is dead"

Why so?

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

A Rag head knows how to read?

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

This rag head needs to know that he is not God and all Judgment is for Him and those who estimate on His behalf are doing themselves a grave injustice.

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

Precisely!

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

:smack: Saudis

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

What about hearing and understanding? Perhaps hearing the ayah on the phone is a good thing, maybe the person who has the ring tone was right about to do somthing they probably shouldnt, and the ring tone reminded them that god is watching them...

How is that a bad thing?

Whole thing sounds like the Saudi religous authorities just making an issue out of a non-Issue just to justify their existance.

Peace Seminole

Nice to see you toting me lingo ... but I hasten to add that you have drastically missed my point. Look again ...

The rag head reads the Name of God etched over the walls of the urinals - the pissoir! Those people who can allow themselves to talk heavenly on such a podium as the gents are a people who have lost their respect for the topic at hand. Even if what was written was in favour of 'God' ... it was the manner in its delivery that was wrong.

Such is the case with having Qur'an in ringtones, as mp3 player to learn and memorise is good however.

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

Peace PaKpatriot

There is an adab for Qur'an ...

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

well…even i think its good move…cause having quranic ayah’s as a ringtone..makes the verse loose its true meaning…
when its on ur ringtone..u don’t pay attention to wht is being said..u cut off the ayah in the middle when u recieve ur cell phone…
the ayah loses its meaning & just becomes something tht informs u tht u hv a call…
:halo:

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

arent we doing the same thing right here…on GS…?:5:

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

and i thought ringtones themselves are banned in KSA!!!.(pleasing to ears and hence a music)

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

sry...

Re: Muslim Ringtones Banned In Saudi Arabia

^^there was no sarcasm in it. Different Ringtones are created to please ears and to suit individual tastes. I indeed thought that there must be only one "ring tone" in KSA....the regular old one that is there for centuries...which sounds like "trin trin..... trin trin "..i hope u got it!!
