Brahmin is a varna and caste in Hinduism whereas Jainism is a religion. Jainism is not a sect of Hinduism and never it was a part of Hinduism. Jainism is an ancient religion (5-6 century BCE) and history suggests that it was already an established religion when the Vedic practices came into being. So how can one say that there were/are differences between them at internal level.
