It will not matter how much “da’wah” you make; unless the other person is him/herself not willing there is nothing you can do, however, do try to find the root cause of her conversion. I do not believe in superficial invitations that are characteristic of today’s “da’wah” …

Did she see something good in the conduct of your Hindu friend that had a lasting impact on her?

I know of a gentleman who converted to Islam only based on the conduct of our family-friends and no other influence.

do your parents also tell you not to speak to other non-muslim ppl in society like christians, jews, buddhists etc? if not then why should you stop talking to somone who is a hindu?

and its very nice and easy to talk the talk about making sure your friend stays muslim but how many ppl actually practice it? i don't preach my muslim friends on a regular basis. you can only try to clarify their mind if they show willingness to convert to another faith and even that only if they tell you about it before actually doing it. If tomorrow, God forbid, one of my muslim friends converts to another religion, i can't be told to have made sure he didn't take such an action because that is not wot i do on a daily basis.

p.s i never objected Hinduism. (where as it is very easy for me). i only want thread starter to accumulate phenomenon of self-realization. helping her frnd (remember threadposter is posting this conversion of her frnd as a problem of her) might actually gonna help her out.

sure there is no compulsion in religion. and if she converts to hinduism it does not mean that she will go to jahannum. we muslims have created that myth. I can quote you the verses of quran that would negate that opinion.

My short opinion is you should try and ask her why she converted to Hindu and pray to Allah SWT for her and help clarify what she was troubled with. There is no reason to cut off relationship with her though to bring her back would be an arduous journey, one which needs patience. Her father set a horrible example for her even though he is muslim, which will make all the more difficult to convince her now. Somethings have little to do with actual knowledge but more about pain and emotion.

If she had a gun to her head you would have said "Ah see, muslims are like this"

Instead of coming here and trying to find faults in someone elses religion maybe one should look at ones own!!

I don't know how old you're. If over 18, my advise is continue to be friends. Obviously your friend has been disappointed by her parents; if you abandon her also, then what is friendship.

If you're under 18, you should explain to your parents about 2 things. 1. Come what may, you won't abandon their faith (assuming you are religious) and 2. How much your friend needs you.

Don't try to convert her etc. She'll find her own peace.just be friends and enjoy each other.

If your friend was not Muslim and converted to Hinduism, she is allowed to convert to Islam. If she was a Muslim, and then converted to Hinduism, then she cannot come back to Islam, as this is seen as Shirk, and the only sin which Allah does not forgive. This has been mentioned many times, especially in the first few chapters/surahs of the Quran.

there are at least two places in the quran. one is in surah baqra, the other in surah maaida. it says that whether one is a christian, jew or saibeen does not matter. what matters whoever does Amal Saliha will go to Jannat.
it does not specifically say hinduism but then hinduism was not part of the Arab culture. the three big religions are described and by corrollary one can safely assume that it would be applicable to all the religions.

As far as I know you cannot covert to Hinduism. It is a closed religion which means you have to be born into it like the other post says.
Besides, from the way you describe her I don'think the person was ever a practicing Muslim. She only has a father who was born to a Muslim family.
