Re: Muslim Converts into Hindu.
Peace Sister NaTaLia
Here are the important points I see in your first post:
-
Dad=Muslim and Mum=Gori
The distinction is already there laced in these defining words. Does it really make a difference if the Mother is a ‘gori’? -
She seems always seems confused about the religion.
So who helped her in her times of confusion? If you knew she was confused about Islam how did you help her? -
Dad=always busy in work and Mum=drinking
Netiher description is that of a good balanced Muslim. How did you know about these details in her life? Doesn’t it explain her confusion? -
You never interfered with her personal life …
It is the duty of Muslims to ‘interfere’ in each others personal lives, with wisdom. Otherwise we are not to know how they feel, whether they need something whether they are short of money etc. We need to develop such relationships with Muslims that we know how we can help them. These are basic community requirements. Have you heard the hadith about sleeping with belly full when neighbour is hungry and that hadith is about a neighbour of any religion. -
You call the Hindu girl nice and you call her a good student
This is the effect at least she has on you. How do Muslims in your class effect others? What is your own contribution? -
Your own parents order you not to meet her again
This is typical of protection tactics. Your parents may not feel confident in your position as a Muslim and feel that you may convert too if you were to continue meeting with her. That is the only reason why they say this. Of course you should try even harder to present Islam as the way it should be presented, her converting could be your reason for becoming learned and proficient in Islam. Let your friends see a change in you and see what happens.
You are totally right that you cannot abandon her. As a hindu or as a Muslim she is obviously trying to rid herself of the confusion probably an attack on her parents to start giving her attention. She has found a rock to rely on - that hindu girl you spoke of. The reason why Islam was not her choice is probably because she equated Islam with busy fathers who don’t have time for their daughters.
Many strong reverts to Islam have once been Buddhist, Hindu, Atheists, etc so she seems to be soul-searching. Yes, you cannot interfere in her decision but you can try to demonstrate Islam in the way it should be presented. This means this is an awakening call to all Muslims in your class.
Try to be the nicest person and best in the class, try to dress, act and talk Islamically if you not already doing so and you will see the effect. If your parents see a change in you towards Islam then may be they will not say anything about not meeting your friend … Give it a try inshaAllah.
