Music on my Android

OK so I usually listen to music right off of My Music - Google Play, be it on my laptop or phone, usually on WiFi. I wanted to make my collection available on my phone/SD card now for when I’m traveling, etc, and while I know there’s an option of listening to songs offline via Google, it’s a bit of a tedious process.

What are my other options? And is it even worth doing that?

(Oh, and before any of you iPhone users come taunt me :hehe:, I know you have your iTunes. God bless!)

Re: Music on my Android

I still do it the old fashioned way... download songs and organize them into different folders... copy the folders on the SD Card and use each folder as sort of a playlist in the Music Player.
Too used to this since the good ole days of using Winamp / Media Player

That's why iTunes never really worked for me since I didn't want to lose control over how the physical files are named and organized in a file structure of my own choice.

Re: Music on my Android

Yep, what LC said. Organize them in folders as you would like and put em on your SD card.

Yep same here. Separate folders for music and podcasts.

Re: Music on my Android

SO you do all the organizing in Air Droid?

Please someone give me a step by step how to put your music in folders lesson. I’m having a blonde moment. (Sorry not racism intended :bummer:)

Re: Music on my Android

in my case, all the downloading and organizing is done on my laptop since I keep a copy of the music files on my laptop or an external hard-drive.
Then it's just a matter of copying the file structure from the laptop to the phone's SDCard either through USB or through AirDroid.

Re: Music on my Android

Organizing MP3’s in folders is great but if you are using software like iTunes and such they also read the ID3 tags of all the MP3’s, which can get confusing.

What I do is, in addition to folders, I also use this little utility called UltraTagger. It costs a little money but worth it. There’s other free ones out there, I have had good results with Mp3Tag.

Re: Music on my Android

^^ Is that why I have some songs that aren’t sung by the singers they say they’re sung by? Not too many, but I know my music.

Anyway, what about Music Hub? Is that what I should be using after I have all my songs on my SD card?

Re: Music on my Android

WHy cant you just download all the songs from music play. I did that and now can listen to my music offline.

Re: Music on my Android

What? WHY you not tell me? How long did that take you?

Re: Music on my Android

You mean Music Player?

Re: Music on my Android

No, Play Music (previously just “Music”). Google’s cloud service (you can upload upto 20,000 songs on there) which is available (free) to all Google users.

What I suggested earlier should be done before you upload the tracks to Music. That reads all the ID3 tags too

PS: Here’s the app

Re: Music on my Android

Tum log pagal kerdo gey mujhey.

Tofi means: No Niksik, “Play Music” … the app. Not the app called “No Play Music”.
TLK means, Play Music but writes Muslic Play.
Hadh hotee hai.

OK I got it now :snooty:

Re: Music on my Android

I did correct myself :(

Re: Music on my Android

Acha acha. :clown:

Re: Music on my Android

I have both, locally stored music and streaming music on google music. I have uploaded all my music to google music and then stored some of them to the phone locally through USB transfer, Its for the places where i dont get good internet coverage. For the music tags i use mp3tag to edit it and organize them in folders.

Re: Music on my Android
