Music in Islam (merged)

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Well in islam we don't need to get into whats bad for mankind and whats good for man kind.

Cuz if Allah wills, what is good for mankind, can also be bad for him.

Allah knows best.

Music is not harmful its actually very beneficial. If no one can bring any specific ayahs from the Quran stating "Music" as "Haraam", then case closed, its allowed, period

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

When you listen to the music..........You remember the one who's playing it.......
When you listen to the Azan or Qura'n you remember Allah.........
In a nightclub the dj play music...........in a mosque the Imam calls for prayer
In a nightclub you face dj.............in a mosque we pray behind imam
In a nightclub dj calls you to Satan..........in a mosque imam calls you to Allah
Duff is allowed though it is havily disliked by the Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique.(ra)

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

fret.....tell me one thing.
When you Listen to maddona or any other singer who do you remember?
And what do you remember?
Forgetting your God is the sin...........don't you think?

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

YES! Quran specifies Rukou and Sajdah but not anything after that! We follow what the PROPHET DID. Anyway, the Quran is the final book of guidance from Allah till day of judement, from yor coments, it appears as though you think the Quran is lacking in some way, as if Allah (Naozubilah) FORGOT to write something in it, thats not the case. If the Quran doesnt mention something, then it is not important for you're survival in this world as a good muslim. The QURAN is the COMPLETE AND UNCHANGING GUIDE to living life as a good muslim. If it doesnt mention THE WAY to namaaz, then maybe THE WAY is not important, the act is. If it doesnt mention whole qalma tayabba, then the whole must not be important enough to be mentioned. I have faith in Allah and the Holy Book, unlike some other people.

This is absurd. Have you even heard music, music is not limited to madonna or nightclubs. There is music that is heart-moving and doesnt lead to sin or whatever. Music always calms me down when Im angry, or I use it to make boring work more enjoyable and thus get more motivated. Your apparent lack-of-common-sense COULD lead you to evil, so is lack-of-common-sense haraam?

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Oh give me a fr****ing break! Anyone who replaces God for a DJ in his personal life has other serious problems. Do you read books? Yes? Do you remember the author and the story instead of God? Do you watch sports? Do you remember the atheltes instead of God? Are books and sports haraam also? Get real.

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Firstly, I don’t listen to Madonna. Secondly, my belief in God is strong enough so that nothing comes between us. Do you browse the internet? Are you forgetting about God because you’re browsing the net? Is the internet haraam as well now? Leisure activities and one’s belief in Allah are 2 different things. They are no mutually exclusive.

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Music is forbidden for muslims not for hedonists...........pakap

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

its good you don't listen to maddona.............have you heard of backmasking?
that is another issue anyway..........
Ok if you listen to music and you think you don't get into it then its alright.
this is the first step to getting rid of music........
I was into music too much.....I always listen to it while doing my work.....When i knew its forbidden i could'nt give up quickly so then i listened to it but not with my heart........I tried not to forget my Lord.after that i left listening to the bollywood and hollywood songs completely........after that i started listening to the nasheeds then i also left them.
So i know it takes ages to leave music but I've done it Alhamdulilah.
so if you listen to it and you think there is nothing between you and your God then I'm not concerned.

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

You’re wrong. I do get into music when I listen to it. That’s the whole point. However, it doesn’t change anything in terms of my religion. How would it, they are very different things. I have no intention of getting rid of music. There is nothing wrong with it, and it benefits my life in so many ways. I think you’re associating music with MTV clowns like Madonna and Britney Spears, and all that other stuff shown on MTV. There is a LOT more to music than what’s shown on MTV. You just need to broaden your mind.

You did not answer my question about books and sports. How are they different from Music, and would they be “haraam” to you?

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

You have talked a lot in previous posts.......shall you tell me the "benefits" of Music.......It may help me to get some benefits from music. As you said "it benefits your life in so many ways".........
I can never tell you about "sports "..........you won't believe me but I don't watch sports..........I do read books..........but I'm not saying that Islam forbids watching sports or reading books........you're going off the topic.
I said listening to music can make you forget your Lord.........I said it based on my own experience.
It can be different for many people in many ways.Music used to give me satisfaction........now it irritates me........
I wasted my life in listening to music.......I'm not anly talking about the "clowns on mtv" but also People who make music.
You're saying them Clowns........You did'nt tell me what kind of music you listen or make?
Believe me I have no idea how does music benefits you?
You said Music and religion are very different things.........thats what I'm trying to say they are really "different things".
may i know what religion do you follow?Islam Christianity etc..........

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Different types of music is beneficial in different ways, to different people. For example, after a long day, European classical music is very relaxing to me. While working out at the gym, agressive, harder edged music is more appropriate, and helps me get the adrenalin pumping during my workout. Did you know that studies have shown that children who are exposed to European classical music, are more developed in motor skills than those children that weren’t? Music is education, music is expression, and music is art.

No, I’m not going off topic. How is reading a book different from listening to music? Explain please.

Right, your OWN experience. So based on YOUR own experience, you dubbed all music to be haraam and harmful to people. Nice.

I listen to all kinds of music from A-Z, except rap, dance and pop music, solely because it doesn’t interest me. I like to play different music for different moods. The music I compose, is harder edged music.

Please see earlier on in this post

I’m a practicing Muslim.

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Oh Alhamdulilah.........you're a muslim.
So music benefits you in getting relaxed and then in gym ,aggressive........music make you "andrenalin pumped".......
You've already given the answer of your own question regarding books.Music does change your mood,expression,behaviour.......
Reading good books, gaining knowledge brings you in light from dark.
You know American armies .......what they do while sitting in thier tanks killing innocents...........they listen music.........
yes music can be art ,education.........whatever..
like porngraphy can be buissness.
Stealing still born babie's organs can be a way of doing research.
I know "instruments of Music are Instruments of Satan".............How can be music or musical instruments can be beneficial..........
You say whatever about the benefits of Music but I have Iman that Music or Musical instruments can never be NEVER NEVER NEVER be BENEFICIAL.
And I did'nt make it haraam.......i don't have authority for it.
Its a scholarly opinion..........not mullahs.........scholars.
This might be my last post...on this forum.
Pakap thats a point .. prophet (peace be upon him ) said music is haram by thier saying & acts .. y u dont follow now?
yor coments, it appears as though you think the Quran is lacking in some way, as if Allah (Naozubilah) FORGOT to write something in it, thats not the case
if u getting me wrong then its ur fault where i said quran is lacking in some one .. Quran is a key of all Islamic orders but u cant under stand quran if u dont follow Ahadees...
If it doesnt mention whole qalma tayabba, then the whole must not be important enough to be mentioned. I have faith in Allah and the Holy Book, unlike some other people.
Allah said .. *obey God & obey his apsotel .. *

*and in other verse which suject like that *

*take those which prohpet gives u and stop from those which prophet(peace be upon him ) prohibted for u *

prohpet (peace be upon him )said music iz haram but u said it not ? so now r u following quran ?

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Are you that weak that you’re afraid that music will cause you to do bad things? If that’s the case, then I’m sorry to say, it’s not the fault of music, but the fault of the individual. Music does change one’s emotions, but so do books, and movies, and poetry, and even watching a sporting event. Are they haraam now as well? You still didn’t answer my question. For you to say that the education of music can never be beneficial, then it just goes to show how close minded and brainwashed you really are.

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

So music is not allowed, dancing is not allowed, it seems general human pleasure is not allowed. What entertainment does Islam allow?

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

this whole argument is pretty similar to the one people who drink have with those who believe it to be haram and offer logic as the basis for it. That drinking causes other sins ("No, i drink and im perfectly sinless afterwards")...that drinking is harmful in itself ("No it isnt, a little red wine everyday is good for your heart").

in my opinion both of you are wrong, the group that is seeking to legitimize music entirely and the group that is offering reasons that werent offered by the Prophet or Allah. you'll keep going in circles and never arrive at a conclusion, because basically this is now a debate involving subjective experiences and non-Islamically sourced arguments applied to an Islamic concept.

Re: Music in Islam (merged)

Music can never never never be beneficial..............................................thats alll...........
Hareem's last words at this forum.......................................................
Its forbidden for muslims not for hedonists...............................................
seeking pleasure in this life through music.....................
Giving false reasons.......to make your way to music........
Muslims know Prophet(saw) and his Companions never like Music................
You Follow Kuffar...............We'll Follow Prophets
End of the Story
