Music and Islam

Re: Music and Islam

This thread is nothing but Sharaarat to start a controversy

Comparing music with terrorism is insane. Its like comparing human extract with gobar. You are not going to eat any, so why to compare which is more edible than the other

Re: Music and Islam

Is a knife haraam in Islam?

Re: Music and Islam

actually she is saying ..why talibans are blowing up musc shops in Swat ..an Peshawar ...while they also kill innocent people..in suicide bombng ..which is true....as thier jalat of cave version f islam does not teach them tolerance ...they want to impose thier jahalat on people by force ..and they dont know that in islam there is no compulsion....islam says to stop bad things by force...but this ay..is jahlat way which even worse the situation....

Re: Music and Islam

Peace All

Kamakaze explosions on music shops or musicians taking revenge by blowing up our ear drums with their bass lines. The answer is simple.

Music with songs to cause social fitna > worse than > murder
Murder > worse than > (vain talk) music
(vain talk) music > worse than > nasheeds with music

nasheeds without music > better than > nasheeds with music
Dhikr and Qur'an > better than > nasheeds without music

Doing Jihad (in accordance with it's true meaning) is of the most noble acts a Muslim can do, this may involve killing the enemy combatants. Neither the innocent by-standers nor the music shop owners nor the music consumers should be harmed. WaAllahu'alam

Re: Music and Islam

Look I told him to read Quran to find his answer and he says its useless to talk to me, now what should I say to him?

Re: Music and Islam

My understanding is that After the fulfilment of "Am'r bil Ma'roof wa nahi anil munkar" ... if guidance is not reached, know that Prophet (SAW) were also told "Wama Alaina Illal Balagh-ul-Mubeen" .... otherwise we would not have Abu Jahel or Abu Laheb....

The best at this point will be to say:

"Lakum Denokum WalaY Yadeen"

Say a prayer of guidance and move on!

Re: Music and Islam

May Allah guide you muali to the straight path. Ameen

Re: Music and Islam

That's quite true that.

Those people will be ignorant and uncivilied regardless of their religion. Even if they had been non-Muslim they would be the same. I know agnostic/secular people from those regions who think they're educated and modern but even they say the most ludicurous and ignorant of things only in a different way.

The jahiliyat is deeply rooted in their culture/values and mindsets, they're too stubborn to acknowledge when they're wrong or to accept change and evolve, their own mindsets are to blame for their problems but they always blame outsiders (well if you're so good why do you play into outsiders hands?), that's why I don't think they can ever be helped, they're a lost cause, the whole world will progress yet they'll remain the same way forever if they don't get their act together.

Donkeys walking on two legs, that's what they are. If somebody else said this I'd get pissed off but nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade, I'm being rational today, if we don't recognise we have a problem we'll never correct it...

Re: Music and Islam

What I have heard about music is that it usually takes you away from the path of God and that it may leads to i guess wrong environment and stuff. I mean why not listen to Al-Ghamdi's or Bukhatir's or anyone's qirat instead of listening to music?

I am 50-50 on this topic, since I myself listen to music and usually try to keep it to minimal. It's debatable.

Re: Music and Islam

It all depends how you look at it... Quran is silent on this issue and I take that to be a sign for the futility or mundaneness of the topic.

Still, the verse most anti-music orientalists bring from the Quran has used the term "lahw al 7adith" which translates to "love of idle-talk/tales/conjuncture" ... if music fits this case, then ALL recreational activities do as well, in which case, bring out the mushallah and keep praying ALL DAY since you have NO TIME TO WASTE. If however, you see beauty in music, melodies and it reminds you of the beauty of the universe and its harmony, and in turn God, or energizes you to be more efficient and effective in your daily life then it is AS GOOD AS worship in my view. It again comes down to the same issue.

The topic of music being halaal or haraam as as mundane to me as that of a blade being halaal or haraam. When on a knife or scalapal, it can be used for productive works and even saving lives in surgery, or it can be on a sword which is a weapon that you can use to defend yourself in case of an unprovoked attack. If you use the blade in any form for evil purpose, then that is something you will be held accountable for, both by the state, and by God... See my point?
