Re: Musharraf’s treason trial

Dunya News also reporting that Musharraf could be shifted to US or UK for ‘treatment’. Drop scene which was expected?

There’s another rumour that Ch Nisar met a judge secretly, UAE’s president is in Pakistan at the moment.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

Musharraf admitted in military hospital

Jan 2nd, 2014: Dr Raza Bokhari, international spokesperson of General Pervez Musharraf, issued the following statement to various media outlets:

We can confirm that Former President Musharraf is admitted in a military hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He is conscious, oriented in time and space and is being examined by Pakistani military doctors.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

Saudi Foreign Minister is visiting Pakistan on 6th of this month.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

This kind of reminds me what was happening to Mubarak in Egypt. Every time he had a court date he would get sick. Maybe all dictators have the same disease. :D

Btw, welcome back yazdi.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

What a drama. Win win situation for all.

Nawaz Sharif can easily wipe their hands and put the onus on the courts, the courts can in turn put the onus on the medical report issued by the hospital.

In any case the activity of UAE and Saudia cannot be ignored.

[Will Saudi minister’s visit save Musharraf’s skin?]

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal will be delivering a special message from King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on January 7.

No word has been given about the schedule and agenda pertaining to his visit and engagements from either side, but diplomatic sources told The News that the most significant engagement of the Saudi foreign minister would be having interaction with the host prime minister. The prime minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Sartaj Aziz, will also have a brief formal meeting with the visiting prince. The prince will have lunch with the prime minister, the sources said.

The sources hinted that the visit of the distinguished guest from a brotherly and respected country is associated with the international efforts to ensure safe passage for former president and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf, who is currently facing high treason charges.

The Saudi government, through highly-placed Prince Mukran, in 2000 brokered a deal between the then Chief Executive of the country General Pervez Musharraf and detained Nawaz Sharif, who was put in confinement by the former. The prince was then chief of intelligence of Saudi Arabia. As the result of his intervention, Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and their families were allowed to proceed on exile in December 2000 and they left for Riyadh.

General Pervez Musharraf was then an unconstitutional chief executive and the cases against Nawaz Sharif were stated to be fabricated. Now the situation is entirely different as Nawaz Sharif has got nothing to do with the cases against Pervez Musharraf, who has conceded his guilt. Nawaz is the constitutional head of the government now, the sources reminded.

Moreover, at the time of Musharraf’s coup there was no private TV channel, whereas now a large number of channels do exist and the media is independent. The judiciary is also independent as compared to that time. The country also has a democratic atmosphere. In short, the situation now is quite different and it would not be easy for Nawaz Sharif to agree to give a safe passage to Musharraf.

General Pervez Musharraf’s deceased friend and former prime minister of Lebanon late Rafik Hariri’s son, Saad Al Hariri, is also active for a deal between the government and Pervez Musharraf since he has clout in the important world capitals. Some visits could also take place from the West in a couple of days for the same purpose, the sources hinted.

It is understood that the government could find a way out for the exit of Pervez Musharraf provided he is willing to give certain undertakings and make a public confession about his offences, the sources added.

so mushi was right army is wth him :hmmm:

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

^^^

Thanks Shamraz..

The problem is not the safe passage for Musharraf here. Probably the government would like to give a safe passage immediately to Musharraf. The problem is the insistence of the former dictator who wants to stay here under any circumstances.. being an ambitious man he wants to play victims card to become a leader in the country to peruse his personal political career. May be the foreign dignitaries are trying to persuade Musharraf to take this safe passage before it gets too late.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

I don't think so he is that idiot. After recent statement of Ch Nisar, he will run away from the country, the first opportunity he will get like AH of MQM.

His actions particularly action of 12 May 2007 does not make him a political leader to play any victim card. At this moment people who were victims of his actions have right to have their justice what he did to them.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

Spoke to soon. Looks like no history is going to be made, business as usual. All hail Saudi Arabia even the usual khareeji shouting crowd.

Re: Musharraf's treason trial

Agree with you..

The ex commando will run away if he sees the rope tightening around his neck.

All these people be it NS, Zardari, or Musharraf are around for personal ambitions. None of them want to become martyrs per suing personal ambitions of power..
