Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

In addition to being amongst the least trusted leaders in the world. This is what they think of Musharraf, ‘outside’ of Pakistan :hehe: We all know how unpopular he is in Pakistan.

WASHINGTON, June 17: US President George W. Bush is among the three least trusted leaders in the world, ranked slightly above his Iranian and Pakistani counterparts, a survey released on Monday showed.

The survey, carried out by the Washington-based World Public Opinion group in 20 countries, found that no world leader is popular across the globe. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has the highest confidence levels, at 35 per cent.

** The survey describes President Pervez Musharraf as the most unpopular leader in the world today. **Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is second on the list. US President George W. Bush is third.

** Sixteen of the 20 nations surveyed lack confidence in President Bush. Only President Musharraf is rated negatively in more nations.** Just two countries – Nigeria and India — give Mr Bush positive ratings while a third – Thailand — is divided. Mr Bush also gets the highest average percentage of negative ratings, 67 per cent.

“While the worldwide mistrust of President George Bush has created a global leadership vacuum, no alternative leader has stepped into the breach,” said Steven Kull, director of WorldPublicOpinion.org. “Hu Jintao and Vladimir Putin are popular among some nations, but more mistrust them than trust them.”

Re: Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

No surprise there! When people think of GW Bush, they simultaneously think of "President" Musharraf (a.k.a G.W. of the East).

Re: Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

McWho?

Re: Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

Hayn? Mugabe, Bush, Kim Jong (Korean President) have lost to him?

Chalo kissi cheez main tou Pakistan kaa naam hua. :D

Re: Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

^^ I 2nd that :hehe:

lol, thats what I says. Sometimes, I really wish musharraf treated his opposition like the real dictators do. Atleast we wouldn't have them screaming around here otherwise. :)

Ya, if he would have done that , Nawaz Sharif Assoc. would be in the grave by now, just as what Zia did to Bhutto.... & then everyone would have become martyr.

People are going overboard with this, is my point. Thats all.

Re: Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

and Pakistanis werent included in the survey at all in those 20 nations, and i dont think musharraf have much fan base outside of Pakistan

Yep that's true, but the same hold for other leaders too.

He doesn't have much of a fan base 'inside' of Pakistan either.

Re: Musharraf the most unpopular leader in the world today

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (2nd place) is between Musharraf and Bush. Very interesting.

I am really impressed with your views...you are not alone here having such views....there is another Mr. Longpost who shared exactly the same views with us on several occassions...

Just to clear my confusion...please do let the mortals like us know... before you got reinvented in Islamabad...if by chance you had been working for Hitler in one of his Nazi concentration camps...

You have excellent views as well...really impressed by your principled outlook...it's really a pity that in the year 2008 there are very few people left like you all over the world...

I am also imperessed with your humanitarian side...otherwise there is no need to put people in graves...they can be left in the open to rot or to be eaten by vultures and dogs...

Come'on did i say it wrong?? Zia hanged Bhutto, Musharraf could have done the same to Nawaz Sharif, until he came up with a deal with Saudi Arabia. I have always been impartial in all this political drama, where as all along i have seen that majority of Pakistani stage runs on partisan, ethnic, religious and cultural divide and hegimony .It seems that there is no roam for neutralism and impartiality , until you are forced into support one group or another.

PCO judges who have already taken oath to be loyal to a person rather than constitution of Pakistan hanged Bhutto....world is really stupid....they don't see the humanitarian side of Zia, who could have court matialled Bhutto...they kept on calling this as a murder...not understanding such a civilsed way adopted by Zia to kill Bhutto...they condemn Zia...

Taking lesson from history...Musharraf did not use his PCO judges to hang Nawaz Sharif...otherwise stupid common people all over the world would have called this a murder as well...instead he sent Nawaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia and achieved the same objectives...ruled for 8 years without any problem...

However time has proven that he was grossly mistaken...as he left Nawaz Sharif alive...he has come back to haunt Musharraf....as Musharraf did not have the services of advisors like you or Mr. Longpost or Mr. Reinvented...he made this big mistake...it was better to be called a murderer than facing the situation he is facing now...

Atleast I have become your big fan...if nobody appreciates your principled version, and they think you are a supporter of a big time liar dictator, and you have no moral values, and you support murders and dictatorial rule, and you have no respect for rule of law....they can't see your humanitarian side...by advocating graves for murdered people you have shown everybody how sensitive you are...this forum is infested with all these blind people who can not see the** neutralism and impartiality....**

Well, I don't want to know whether all that you posted are sarcastic ramblings or what...But in the above post of your esteemed intellect, you lamented one General and conveniently accepted the other. Seocndly first try to fix your thoughts then try to become my fan or whatever.

Sarcastic ramblings????

What sarcastic ramblings...my thoughts have become very clear thanks to you...I have decided to support every military general and dictator...if you study my post clearly I am appreciating both the military generals...and as your enlightened post suggests...would support the murders by these generals just like you do...however as your post suggests... we must point out the mistakes of Musharraf (which by no means is condemning him), which he committed by not hanging Nawaz Sharif...thanks once again for sharing your clear thoughts with us...I remain your big fan...

Again that's your own pediculous inference, for the pleasure of you own distorted thoughts.

And i am not of yours facetious personality.
