The site seeks to give promote a positive view of Pakistani life
Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf has launched his own website, aimed at giving the world more information about the man and his policies.
The website was launched by Gen Musharraf at a ceremony at the presidential palace.
It carries details of his personal life and an official biography.
Created by the military’s public relations department, the idea is also to promote what is being described as Pakistan’s soft image.
The site also features interviews, his vision about domestic and regional issue and links to various government departments.
While displaying the website at the Presidential Palace, Gen Musharraf’s spokesman, Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan said an option has been kept to allow people to directly interact with the president.
He said people will be able to send questions or complain directly to the president, and wherever applicable, they will be sent responses through email.
President Musharraf said the government’s policies in the last few years have brought in a qualitative change in Pakistan, and its economy had been strengthened to an extent that the country has finally started to take-off.
military maintaining a website that promotes the softside of Pakistan? you can't make up these things - how long before someone figures on the softbelly

Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has called India 'our arch enemy'. **
The general, widely regarded as the architect of Pakistan's aggression in Kargil, has also said that the 'much-trumpeted' bus journey of then Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Pakistan was followed by the 'Kargil operation with all its reality and distortions'.
"It (Kargil operation) proved to be a lesson to the Indians and a rude awakening to the world of the reality of Kashmir," he said in a potted autobiography on his newly inaugurated website www.presidentofpakistan.gov.pk.
He described as unfortunate the defeat of the BJP government in India, as it came after a breakthrough was achieved in Indo-Pak ties during Vajpayee's visit to Pakistan last year.
The Vajpayee government's fall had resulted in a stalemate in bilateral ties. But fortunately Vajpayee's successor Manmohan Singh had taken a 'bold decision' to meet him on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session, the Pakistan president said.
"The New York joint statement between me and PM Manmohan Singh finally is a quantum leap forward towards resolution of all disputes, including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir. There is light visible at the end of the tunnel," Musharraf said.
Bad execution. The pics are blurry. The opinion polls don't show you the result (typical military secrecy thingy). And there is nothing of value to the readers, except boiler-plate crap. Looking at his schedule, there is nothing in the future (again secrecy). An exercise in self-praise (all articles just to praise the Prez). Add a fund-raising part and the site is ready for Musharraf's re-election campaign.
The Site is working fine, as for others, thanks for input. I enjoyed the site, although i aggree that it is a tat bit narsasistic, espically some of the pictures. But to me Musharraf’s advantages, far outweigh his disadvantages. And hopefully when we do have a civilian governemnt, Pakistan will be a much more prosperous nation under his leadership.
This is why Musharaf is ultimately bad for Pakistan. He tries and tries and controls himself to behave like a real leader but once in while, he has let go and let his bravado stupid streak come out. I think in his delusional mind he is playing a commando game and thinks he is 'issuing a warning' to a bigger country which keeps outpacing his own in every respect.
On the other hand, if Pakistan can come up with a true leader who would really work and dream for the country and forget about personal ego satisfaction ..... but then he is the best you got I guess.
Mr President,
I would like to know why clauses exist in the contitution of Pakistan discriminating minorities especially Ahmadis? A sacred document like constitution should not have clauses discriminating Citizens of Pakistan that have certain beliefs.
Kind regards
