No, it doesn't always do what its supposed to do. Its supposed to report objectively and accurately, and with some ethics. Ethics would mean yes, you can broadcast the "other side's" story. But when there is clear brainwashing going on - hell no. That's the crap they do in their madrassas and they get away with manipulating the poor lives of so many civilians who just don't know when they're being taken for a ride. There's no need to subject more people to that insanity. Its irresponsible reporting. And worldwide, media stations have similar PEMRA-sort agreements with their governments - they're on tight regulations of what they can and cannot show. GEO and these other channels were showing gory images of mutilated bodies - there has got to be a limit between civilized and uncivilized broadcasting.
PCG, who defines whats ethical and whats accurate? All we are asking is that courts be allowed to interpret laws the way they are supposed to..
Its not your job, or Musharafs, to define how PEMRA laws are followed, or who is or who isnt following them. Neither is it Musharafs role in determining who is acccurate or ethical. All this falls into the realm of the judiciary (which Mush conveniently sidelined..)
There is something called defamation and yellow journalism... But if thats the accusation, then Mush should take the media to court and allow them the right to a fair trial.
By not allowing the Media a fair trial, you are effectively saying that there is no such thing as innocent until proven guilty... The consequences of such a statement are far more dangerous, and consequential then you think.
