Musharraf hits out at retired generals

Re: Musharraf hits out at retired generals

So...are you planning on never really clarifying your position? So, you haven't seen those terrorist-supporters on TV? That's your cop-out? Well, then you're really not in a position to make any supportive claims for or against any television channel, now are you, since you don't have your facts laid out on the table?

I don't pay for those channels, so of course I'm not supporting them. I had the guts to not only write to GEO when I found out about their coverage, but I also wrote to dishnetwork as well. Haven't heard of any further instances of such business from them onwards.

And that my friend, is called : Identifying the problem, being a vigilant citizen, and taking action.

I think GEO has actually signed the PEMRA, right? Not sure, but they're back on air in Pakistan, and I truly think they might walk a more straight line since. I did recently see a show by Aalim Online, where the host actually emphasized to the clerics on the show that not enough is being done by the clerics in Pakistan to denounce suicide bombing and to educate pple about it so that they don't fall into it.

My original thesis is complete. Media is very powerful, and can be a great part of society, but must adhere to certain national regulations. And thankfully, Mush isn't such a git that the regulations are SOOOO severe on the stations. If it was Castro, the station would have been castrated.
