This is what I like about the man. His courage and intelligence.
I am against military rule as a matter of principle but when I see our current nalaiq and incompetent politicians I am sort of stuck in two minds.

Even Kiyani or Pasha can’t match Musharraf’s wittiness/performance, it just shows that not all militarymen can be as good (in terms of speaking skills).

Weak argument...before 9/11 no one was looking for hijackers with box-cutters. It was always guns and bombs that was the focust of security through out the world. Intelligence agencies were not looking for people to fly planes into building; the scale of the attack and the simple idea is mind boggling, that best I can say is evil genius.
Whereas after 9/11 whole world was searching for OBL, that is why the gentleman in the panel (and so are public in general) was surprised to find him in Pakistan and could not help but suspect Pakistan. Musharaf's, public speaking skills have outlived the utility. After a point it's more substance that carries the day not style. Unfortunately, this skill is what fooled US and Bush administration.

He has done a lot of damage to Pakistan and as a perosn who should die fighting for Pakistan, he cannot even go back to face justice. Words are irrelevant. Actions are more important.
If he was courageous he would have stood upto the USA and stopped the drone attacks. He would come back to face justice not live ina foreign country,
If he was intelligent he would not have declared emergency in 2007 and make it pakistan's worse year to date.

It was still a big intelligence failure
by the same logic intelligence services (CIA & ISI) were not expecting OBL to hide in an urban built-up area never mind a garrison city. Mind you even with their superior technology it took the Americans a decade to track down OBL

Germany had passed intelligence to the US that some people had planned and were training in the US for hijacking lessons. Then, these dudes also disappeared from their school from what I have read, so somewhere some flags must have been raised.

Perhaps you mean corrupt generals like Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zia-ul-Haq and Musharraf. Two generals destroyed pakistan. Is that what you feel such skills are required for Kiani too?

Well I was talking about public-speaking skills. Asif Nawaz and Jehangir Karamat were more impressive (just my personal opinion)

Musharraf being a military man (yes he made many mistakes esp. in 2007) does not change the fact that he ruled well from 1999 to 2002. The economy was in better shape then
