Oh God.
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
Even avowed opponents of the govt while trashing them have also trashed the idea that suspended CJ was any great supporter of the “disappeared”.
Asma makes light of CJP’s record on HR issues
Asma Jahangir, chairwoman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), in an interview made light of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s concern for the “disappeared”. She told Newsweek,** “As far as the missing people are concerned, Chaudhry has not given a single judgment on it. **He kept the Human Rights Commission’s petition pending for one-and-a-half months. But since we are lawyers of renown, it is very difficult for any judge to kick us around - he had to hear it. But he went at it very slowly. He did give a notice to the government, but he really didn’t give a judgment. There was not a single time when he said that those who kept these people should be brought to justice. All he was doing was saying to the government, ‘Let’s find some people.’”

She is on Musharraf's payroll.
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
Aasma Jahangir is a JOKE from the day one I started reading/hearing about her in news and media -
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
yeah, so lets not use HRCP quotes against the current govt as credible stuff either, since she is a joke. know what I mean mate?
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
She falls in the same category as Altaf for me. I dont remember her exact wordings but she went to India and questioned Pakistan’s existence.
And listen to her now…she’s sore cuz the CJ kept the case pending for 1 and a half month??? :halo:
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
I have never been fond of the lady. HRCP needs to find someone else to be the toop dawg. why do top ppl in pakistan never go away?
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
that is just a dumb excuse his haters make. he has many supporters in pakistan,
free and fair election shouldn't be a problem then?
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
haven't had any free and fair elections since 1947, so I think our track record indicates that they would be a problem, whether or not those in power wantthem to be fair or not.
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
I hear there is a saying in Army that we (Yahya) gave these civilians one free fair elections and it broke the country into two..so no more of that crap ![]()
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife

is that a justification?
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
ok i read about half of that article and i think this housewife is full of it. President's military secretary calling some middle class housewife to tell her about her husband??? if u think thats wot musharrafs secrataries do on a daily basis, maybe u gotta go live in pakistan for a while. the guy disappeared and it HAD to be the military on personal orders from the president. was this husband of hers some bigshot that the president had to take notice of him. A common MPA or MNA in our country can get rid of a hundrad opponants without anyone so much as having a clue of wot happened to them. There are so many people who could've kidnapped this dude. I mean come on... dont take any BS somone comes up with just caz u hate musharraf.
CHACHA_GHALIB: You obviously dont know the Pakistan army and police and anyone who has any kind of power, like the landlords, etc. You have no idea of the pakistani and muslim mentality. You think the military secretary dosent have time? Why wouldnt he have time? What else do you think he's doing? Dont you know about the gang rapes, blackmailings, and what not? You are a very naive person.
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
Chaudhry has not been an angel FoL, don’t confuse his symbolism with him as a person.. Jehangirs comments maybe harsh but they are just a reflection of that..
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
One of the “disappeared” turns up, but telling a story to the SC that does not quiet correlate to the propoganda that anti-govt people want people to believe.
Missing varsity girl appears before SC
A second-year girl student of the Sindh University Jamshoro, who had been missing since Jan 19, appeared before Acting Chief Justice Bhagwandas in Islamabad on Wednesday and said that she had been subjected to rape and violence by three men, one of them claiming to be her husband. Yusra Siddiqui was under medical care for the physical and emotional wounds she had suffered in captivity, her father said, adding that her hair had been cut and her hands had burn injuries. Sardar Siddiqui, who is staying with his daughter at a relative’s home in Rawalpindi, told Dawn on Thursday that the Supreme Court had come to his rescue. He said that Hyderabad police had been telling him that his daughter had married one Rana Sajjad in Faisalabad after appearing in the court of a civil judge where she said that she was marrying of her free will and she had not been kidnapped. Yusra had gone missing from the university campus on January 19 and her father lodged an FIR with Market police three days later after having failed to find her. He nominated Sultan Shah and Sheeraz as principal accused in the case. He sent an application one and a half months ago to Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. The first hearing was held on March 16 by Acting Chief Justice Javed Iqbal, who issued directives to Faisalabad and Hyderabad police, calling for her production within 10 days. “While the case is to be fixed after 10 days, I got a communication that I should attend court on March 28. I reached there along with my wife and daughter. My wife had in fact spotted Yusra who was present in the court’s premises and subsequently appeared before the court,” Mr Siddiqui told Dawn over phone. He denied that her daughter was recovered and produced before the court by Sindh or Punjab police. Quoting his daughter, he said she accompanied by two advocates. She told her father that Rana Sajjad had left her at the gate of the Supreme Court and told her that after getting their statements recorded the lawyers would bring her back to him. “Yes, my daughter told the acting CJ that she had been raped by three persons and one of them, Rana Sajjad, had forced her to sign a nikahnama,” said the girl’s father. According to Mr Siddiqui, his daughter told the court that she had been kidnapped by three persons from the Tilak Chari area and one of them was Rashid. She came to know about his name when he was addressed by his name by other accused. He maintained that his daughter was taken to Ranipur and then made to board a Faisalabad-bound coach where Sajjad joined her. Mr Siddiqui said that his daughter prayed to the court to rid her of Sajjad. The court gave two week’s time to the SP investigation Faisalabad to arrest the accused.
Re: Musharraf and the Housewife
^This Rana Sajjad must have taken her to Kashmir, Afghanistan or Iraq.
