Sure, we should only support the rightful side, and not just be led by religion alone. The thing is, even if looked from a truly secular mind, it is hard to ignore the unjust treatment meted out to human-beings, and all in the name of religion (of Zionism).
If secularism is all everyone looking for then Israel should be a true democracy with ALL its people, including 20% Palestinian population, having equal rights as Iranian and Ethiopian Jews.
Problem is, Musharraf is trying to be neutral, but no one, irrespective of his religion, can stay neutral (and not support Palestinians).
That's how I think about this issue.
we are bringing diff things in the equation now. the basic point was that if both sides do not want you to be involved then it applies to our awam, mullahs and all too, just stop talking about palestine and asking us to do stuff because our help is not wanted.
I support Israel, they have a right to be, they have massively horrible policies for non jews, and their treatment of Palestinians is horrendous. BUt I d support Israel's right to exist the way it was initially expected to be, so lets go back to 1940s and those borders, after over half a century of blood shedding and polarization, it appears that what it was initially was probably the best way to be.
