Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

Musharaf is not a leawder in any sense but a dictator - and that too a "do number" he back tracked all the things he said he came for - he joined hands with the most corrupt, unleashed torture in Balauchistan and other parts of country etc. As with a any do number dictator he had to rely on support of the most incompetent and corrupt.. his greed of power has no limits.. he will keep on lying as Zia did.. economy seems always good as was in Zia time when US $ pours for a side kick dictator that USA controls.. but this type of economy favors few and a large majority suffers from high inflation and rising cost of commodities..

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

Sir when are you ariving in Pakistan to take the advantages of these developments? Please do inform me.. i will like to welcome you...

ps. after reading the the first reply i realized the funny ness of this post... sometime a little laugh is a good for health.. thanks.:)

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

Mushraaf till 2002 was very excellent - running his governement with the help of educated and technocrat people. Due to western pressure he had to hold elections and then had to take in the corrupt and duffer people in as well as MQM's terrorists. During last one year, he has gone from good to worst.

He failed to realize that eveyone one day has to leave, so he would have played the things sensibly and have developed his successor who would have taken care of his pre-2003 policies. Alas he proved himself very foolish and callous which we saw on 12 May in Karachi.

He is indeed no great leader any more.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

rightly said.. and this is due to the widening gap between rich and poor in the country during this regime.
and POWER is the only rule.. u can see the writ of the governmen F***ed everywhere from a shopkeeper to sugar industry.. rice ..wheat..milk..
they can raise prices at will and nobody would take an action..
On foreigh front..our boders are more secure than before LOL building walls across the borders from aghanistan to iran..

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

Not only the 12th May, I have been watching terrorism in Pakistan and outside of Pakistan since the 70's.

Is breaking up of Pakistan a bad thing? People in each provinces are treated as foreigners anyway? What do you think? Is Musharaf really the best or only person for that? There have been people that have been trying for ages. East Pakistan has already happend.

God save Pakistan. It is a question of making the best of whoever is available to lead the country. BB, Nawaj or Army.

Take your pick. There are no alternatives in Pakistan. People sitting outside Pakistan still pull all the strings.

What a shame.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

Would like to see such report which can compare previous governments in third world countries, appreciate links if any?

In general in South Asia leaders even top leaders such as Prime Ministers have indulged in corruption in past.
Examples like Rajiv Gandhi and Narsimha Rao from India, as ex-prime ministers, who have corruption records of serious nature during their time.

So far, same is not true for Musharraf as an individual....I am not fully aware about Pakistan's internal political set-up, but can you provide some details when Musharraf indulged in corruption?? So far there is no such report where Musharraf has directly been accused of Corruption.

Talking about Corruption, it is hereditary in beaurocracy in this part of the world, and will take at least two generations to eliminate it.

Btw....Can people provide some alternative names for future Pakistani leadreship, whom they think are better than Musharraf??

At the moment, it seems, every Pakistani leader worth his salt is trying to capitalize on anti-Mushrraf wave which has been sweeping lately.

IMHO, it's called anti-incumbency factor---very much typical in case of people in subcontinent.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

:omg: :hehe:

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

Only BB and Sharif can save Pakistan. Pakistanis need and deserve great honest leaders like them.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

ha ha ha barf

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

I agree 200% he is the greatest leader after Quaid and liaqat Ali khan.
May Allah give him more streanth to make Pakistan an asian tiger.:)

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

This should be in jokes section!!

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

he meant it as a joke

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

mushie is the most disappointing leader ever for me. i never expected anything from BB or Nawaz, but I was so optimistic about Musharraf that I went to Topi from GIKI to vote in the referendum.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

aur vote denaY kaY ba'ad aap ko hee topi pehnaa dee gayee? :D

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

haan yaar Topi is an apt place for voting for this topi drama dictator.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

lol, rav did i ever tell you about my British born friend who while visiting pakistan, was herded into voting for Musharraf by the police? You can trace Musharrafs power hunger from the days before the referendum.

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

i always wonder why they would do that when they can just stamp whatever the hell they want on those papers and give him 99 percent support?

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

musharraf will be the only dictator who won't survive a day in pakistan once kicked out of office, may be that is the reason he is clinging to kursee even if he has to make a deal with benazir

Re: Musharaf the greatest leader since 1971?

I think Mushrraf is getting more credit than he deserves. People are forgetting that Pakistan economy is doing good b/c of 911 and the billion of $ that US gave to Pakistan in return for its support for so called war on terror & lefting of western economic sanction after nuclear tests.

Mushrraf does deserves credit for deregulating telecom industry and giving press some freedom. On the other hand, he has destroyed every single national institution. The Parliament & the PM are jokes, and only institution that had some credibility with public, the SC, he has gone after it, just to make sure that there is no obstacle between him and his stay in the power.
