Musa Gilani, son of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, has been singled out as prime suspect in Rs 7 billion drug-related scandal.

This factor was exposed on Thursday during review of a petition filed by ANF (Anti Narcotics Force) requesting the 3-member bench convened by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to defer an earlier petition regarding illegal allocation of quota for Afradrain , a drug used in flu-related sicknesses.

Declaring the issue as of a highly sensitive nature, the CJP refused the request of ANF to defer the issue and ordered authorities concerned to submit all correspondence between ANF and Secretary Anti-Drug Division (ANCD) regarding the issue, besides all allotment papers, and usage of the drug, by April 28.“Why do you want to rescind your petition; are you afraid?” quizzed the CJP to ANF commander, Brigadier Naeem.

“You being a commander should have the courage to stand up; as the masses would be at total loss without your courage,” the CJP added.

The ANF commander replied that he was not afraid, and backed out from rescinding ANF’s earlier petition.

Meanwhile, the investigative officer informed that one person named Tauqeer, claiming to be secretary of PM’s son Musa Gilani, was able to get himself allocated a quota for more than allowed quota of 500 kilos to a massive 9,000 kilos.

The investigative officer also informed that, secretary ANCD had also referred of involvement of one high-profile political entity; upon which the apex court informed that this was Musa Gilani in person.The court was informed by ANF that the entire case had been thoroughly investigated with a detailed inquiry, while Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had also prepared a comprehensive report; which was gathering dust, while the government had failed to implement it.

It is pertinent to note that during the allotment of the said quota, Nargis Sethi was posted as Secretary Health, and this chemical is globally used for drug-related preparations.

The Gillani family is fast catching up on all lost corruption.

  1. Gillani's son Abdul Qadir Gillani implicated in Haj scandal.
  2. Gillani's son Musa implicated in pharma scandal.
  3. Gillani's daughter appointed goodwill ambassador, with no relevant qualifications, other than being daughter or PM.
  4. Gillani's wife got loans worth 17 crore written off.
  5. Gillani himself making a mockery of the supreme court in public, hoping for a pat on the back from his master and leige lord, zardari.

Some choice words come to mind for Gillani and family, but I will hold them for now.

Dunya News: Pakistan:-Notice issued to Musa Gilani in Ephedrine case…

The Supreme Court also issued notice to former DG Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Major General Shakil.

Earlier, ANF had also requested the Interior Ministry to add Musa Gilani’s name to the Exit Control List.According to sources, ANF officials informed the the court that secretary narcotics was trying to protect Ali Musa Gilani. The CJ was reported to have said that this was a sensitive issue, where they needed to tread carefully.

The case regarding the illegal sale of ephedrine was registered on October 10 last year, after two pharmaceutical companies including Danas Pharmaceutical Limited and Berlex Lab International were accused of obtaining export quotas for the drug in collusion with the health ministry officials that exceeded the limits fixed by the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB).

The INCB had fixed an annual quota of 22,000kg of ephedrine for Pakistan for 2010-11, but the ministry of health following its devolution allocated a quota of around 31,000kg of the drug.

Later, ANF’s investigation had allegedly established a direct link between Ali Musa Gilani and the multi-billion drug scandal.

So now the Anti Narcotics Force head, who I believe is a serving officer of the armed forces (Grade 20 min) has been removed unceremoniously by Mr. Daddy Gillani for having submitted his deposition to the courts.

PPP leaders are so shameless, they dont even make an attempt to hide their corruption.

ANF team probing case against Gilani’s son removed: SC told
Islamabad: The Supreme Court was told on Tuesday that Musa Gilani, a son of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and, Khushnud Lashari, principle secretary to the PM were being sheltered in ephedrine quota case.An SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing an application moved by the army-led ANF against the prime minister’s sacking of its director general and hurdles being created in investigating Musa Gilani for his involvement in illegal import of ephedrine-a controlled substance-, by the help of Khushnud Leghari.ANF investigation officer Brig Fahim also appeared before the court.ANF lawyer Akram Shiekh told the court that the team investigating the ephedrine case was removed.“Should have i spared Musa Gilani as he is a son of a well-to-do man” the officer told the court.“It seems an influential person is involved in the case and the need arouse for more transparent investigation,” the CJ remarked.

*ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Prime Minister’s son, Ali Musa Gilani in the chemical quota allotment case. A three member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case. *

During proceedings of the case, the ANF comprising of Brigadier Faheem investigating the case were presented before the court. The counsel for Brgadier Faheem informed the court that the ANF team working on the case had been changed.

The Chief Justice inquired as to why this had happened and remarked that maybe the reason was the involvement of some prominent person and further investigation was required.

Brigadier Faheem informed the court that Ali Musa Gilani’s father was upset over the notice and the law secretary along with entire state machinery were trying to save Khusnod Lashari and Ali Musa Gilani in this case.

The court ordered Ali Musa Gilani and Khusnod Lashari to record their statements in ANF and the investigation team be reinstated. The hearing of the case will resume on April 20.

yeh third class retard CJ jo mqm ki taarif men mara jaa raha hay, bhool gaya ke mqm ne usko Karach airport se baahir tak nahin aane dya tha. I think it is high time that PPP should also do the same thing to get some positive political feed back like mqm. I wonder is he really a CJ or third class politician?
