Not to be gustakh or anything, but we do put sahaba / salafs on a pedestal.
I think this riwayat came from a shiite source because I have heard it mentioned by a shiite forumer in the past. I was kind of iffy about it as well since Prophet Muhammad was very lenient when it came to “gustakhs”.
