Don’t have knowledge of this riwaayat, but I know that once in prophet’s life, some people burnt someone and prophet showed his displeasure. He said that punishment through fire is only the right of Allah. No human should do that.
Second thing is that sahaba could make mistakes too. Their act could not constitute shariah.
