Once again history repeating…when Zardari showed his strong desire to have friendly relationship with India…the incident happened just like Kargil episode happened when Nawaz Sharif tried to take some steps to have cordial relations with India…
Army establishment who became very unpopular with chief justice/Musharraf episode once again have media who are projecting them as heroes…new tv programs like “crises cell” have started and monsters like Hamid Gul have become the most sought after TV commentators and experts…
Indian politicians are playing exactly like Pakistan army establishment wanted them to act…by flaring up war and hate…thus rolling back whatever sentiment was made in last one year against army establishment in Pakistan and any political advancement made during this time in Pakistan…ISI and Pakistan army establishment is a major gainer in whatever happened after Mumbai incident…
Pakistan army is conducting air shows in major cities to excite people towards anti India and war sentiments…I just remember Aitzaz’s words,** " army establishment has turned Pakistan in to a security state against the wishes of Quaideazam who wanted to make Pakistan a welfare state"…**
PAF jet fighters continue flying over Lahore for the second day
Updated at: 1100 PST, Tuesday, December 23, 2008
LAHORE: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) four jet fighters today continued flying over the skies here for the second consecutive day also.
Sources said that the aircrafts equipped with the extra-fuel tanks kept taking rounds of Lahore air space on Tuesday morning for surveillance. PAF jet fighters taking off from Sargodha Air Base made rounds over Lahore for about 8 minutes and then landed at the Lahore Air Base besides making to and fro surveillance flight from Sargodha to Lahore.
**The people witnessing the jet-speeding fighters happily waved and welcomed the ever-agile ‘Shaheens’ and voiced slogans in support of the motherland. **
It may be recalled that PAF aircrafts yesterday also have flown over Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad air space for surveillance.

Good to see Pakistan armed forces taking threats from India seriously, and are prepared to defend the Pakistan against the threat of strikes from India, as threatened by Indian defense minister and Sonia Gandhi over the past couple of days.

Aalsi bhaijan good to notice that you have noticed that armed forces are back in business and also it's good to notice your praise of armed forces started again which was a little sub dued when Musharraf was made to resign rather disgracefully..
I think armed forces should extend their feelings of patriotism and should immediately announce they will not be getting any defence property for next ten years due to the economic situation prevailing in the country....moreover they should immediately pledge to live modestly and their life style's should reflect the affordability of the poor nation...and shall honour in future the oath they take to safeguard the constitution of Pakistan...and will never indulge in illegal activities...
I am afraid just an acrobatic air show is not enough...
Pakistan nation is again in war hysteria. Army popularity is going up, am i the only one thinking "President Kiyani" :@: ?
Even during previous martial laws, the army was always popular, with the exception of Musharraf's reign of terror (2005-2009). Now that hes gone, I dont think Kiyani, whose distanced himself and his army from politics is interested in picking up the pieces left by Musharraf's incompetency during his long tenure. He would much rather have Zardari face the wrath of the people.
Worst to think army in power again.Pakistan Army is wonderful if not in power. They should now fource governments to be honest. This is a time to fight for honesty and merit.
I said the same thing about this being Zardari's Kargil.
I'm not sure if any state elements had involvement in the Mumbai attack but they definitely have taken advantage of the aftermath. The fact is that given our pathetic economic situation and piling evidence and weak global standing, this government will be forced to stand down at some time. The army will be only too glad to put all the blame on Zardari.
Indian media is playing up war threat but it is easy to see the same old retired Fauji club fan the war hysteria on our side also. The low level flights of PAF only waste fuel because we can be on short term response position by flying away from cities also. However, by making it so public, Zardari faces public pressure to defy US threats. He cannot do that beyond a point.

I could not agree with you more. The generals are trying to undermine the democratic system b/c the strong system could at the end hold them to account for their criminal wrong doings of last 60 years.

Pakistan army has created more billionaires in Pakistan than any other profession....a typical army officer spends more time with his property broker or stock broker if he decides to invest his money within the country in sharp contrast to an Indian army officer who drives a modest Maruti and lives in a modest two bedroom apartment after his retirement....there are many who just leave the country as soon as they retire taking whatever they earned during their careers alongwith them...we have the example of former IB chief shifting to Australia immediately after his retirement...
A vast majority of these officers get lucrative jobs after they retire in government or semi government institutions or diplomatic circle...thus continuing their money making spree...
As far as army as an institution is concerned I don't think they are even a least bit prepared for a war situation....probably they will not have fuel to fly their aircrafts once they have to face a war...they will immediately put pressure on civilian govenment to rescue them diplomatically just like NS was made to take a trip to US during Kargil episode....
I caution my fellow countrymen not to be fooled by this mafia for upteenth time once again...
Do not depend on the enemy not coming; depend rather on being ready for him.
Master Sun Tzu the Art of War.
Lucrative defence/cantonment property...golf courses....lavish army mess....fat commisions on army purchases or children studying in most expensive educational institutions abroad is indeed a good war preparation for these mafia army officers....
Do you think economically we are in any situation to sustain a war...40% population living below poverty line chanting Allah u Akbar...watching acrobatic airshow of low flying fighter aircrafts....is this what you call being prepared for the enemy....
I think your Master Sun Tzu will have to revisit his ideas about the Art of War....and write another book about the enemy within once confronted with Pakistan army mafia...
Even during previous martial laws, the army was always popular, ........
Sometimes, I am amazed as how easily you take your own sentiments and project them on to others.
Remember, your ideas are reinforced by the circle of people you sit and talk with and most likely, that circle of people will have those very similar ideas that you carry yourself. That does not mean that, even if it is true on a larger scale, ones ideas could be projected as the voice of a society. The only reliable way to know the sentiments of a society is through a fair election process.

That is why India has an army & our army has a country. No wonder every problem in Pakistan can be traced back to army rule.

yazdi bhaijan. No need to worry yaar. If the aiyashi is going on then I am sure Great Zardari, the President of Pakistan, and the PPP government with the people mandate, will put a stop to all this. Have faith in the elected government please. I have.
