I have to say that the only guys I know of that have multiple wives have them due to their inability to "keep their zippers zipped". Not a one of them married a 2nd or 3rd for reasons of humanity. Sad.
For myself, I would not want to share my man but for humanitarian reasons I would. I'd also share him (and actually started looking into a 2nd) when I was unable to conceive. By the Grace of God, I was finally able to give him 3 boys but if it came down to it and I was completely unable to bear his children, I'd sadly share him so that he would be able to father his own offspring.
Thats what the Islaamic "rule" is all about. It ISNT about sexual gluttony.
