Multiple Eids in the country

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

I have no idea why make a big deal about multiple Eid in one country. There is nothing shameful about it.

Where does it say in islam that Eid has to be celebrated one day in each country? :smack:

Let people of a region decide and be happy for each other. Come on!

Why find reasons to ridicule each other?

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

^^^ Yeah you are right

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

Some 150 years ago, this was a norm!

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

Before some people used to do an eid on different days, but now one province is doing it on a different day as compared to the rest of the country. I do feel it’s dangerous considering the circumstances in which we are presently, Talat hussains eid say Pehlay eid. Eid Se Pehle Eid | Saach.TV

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

The issue is sectarian - Barelvis do not want to delay Eid in Pakistan ALWAYS! At one point Pakistan was having Eid 2 days after Saudi - do we remember those days?

In the UK is is Barelvis that start fasting and keep Eid a day later. The reason why Khyber Pakhtunkhwa keeps Ramadan and Eid in sync with Saudi because it is not Barelvi dominated.

There are people on this forum who are implying people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are backward and treacherous because they do not adhere to a nationally unified Eid but that is wrong. It is not just a provincial issue but sectarian.

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

Kalabagh Dam has nothing to do with this and quite frankly will benefit one province at the expense of others. They are not being paid by any one to spread division.

It is Pakistan that is going against the best interests of the Islamic world. Is nt it time Pakistan stopped being such an awkward thorn?

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

^ you have a valid point, is this something of a sectarian divide? As kp is mostly deobandi, where as the rest of the country is barelvi.

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

Not just Pathans but most of the Muslim World! You talk as if they are in the wrong but…

Re: Eid moon spotted in North Waziristan

That is a bit ignorant and arrogant is nt it? Is the rest of Pakistan's Islam any better when they have Eid a day after Saudi or even 2 days after Saudi?

The days Pakistan choses Eid on is very rarely credible to be honest.

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

Of course it is a sectarian divide. We see it very clearly in the British Pakistani community. The barelvis who originate from Mirpur and Punjab tend to always delay fasting and Eid whilst the Deobandis who tend to originate from Punjab and Kp. In the UK barring Barelvis of Indian and Pakistani origin all other Muslims follow saudi.

Re: Multiple Eids in the country

^ agreed but in this case the pashtuns are providing "sharayi shahadats" but the RUET is not willing to accept them. 2 shahadats should have been enough and they are saying they had 2 dozen of them, but still we couldnt have an EID. The mullahs instead of uniting the country have divided it further.

PML-N leader wants Ruet-e-Hilal Committee disbanded**

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Arbab Khizer Hayat said on Sunday the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee should be disbanded and its chairman, Mufti Munibur Rehman, should be fired for his failure to ensure unanimous Ramazan and Eid in the country.

**“In order to settle the crescent-sighting controversy once for all, the government should follow Saudi Arabia in this regard,” Khizer said in a statement on Sunday. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has refused to entertain testimonies regarding sighting of moon from its own zonal branch of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Mufti Munib should tell us why his committee does not entertain crescent-sighting testimonies from our province? Are we lesser Pakistanis? Are we lesser Muslims? Or is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not part of Pakistan?” Khizer questioned. He said that it was unfortunate that “we, as a nation, have not been able to celebrate an important festival like Eid together”. He accused Mufti Munib of harbouring prejudice against the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and blamed him for sowing discord in the nation. Khizer said the “media-savvy” Mufti Munib was chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for the last several years and did not allow anybody else to replace him. “Over the years he has become autocratic. He behaves like a dictator,” Khizer said. “Mufti Munib is creating schisms in the Pakistani nation,” he added. **staff report

**
Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai, chief cleric of the Qasim Ali Khan Mosque in Peshawar, announced on Saturday that Eid-ul-Fitr in the city will be celebrated on August 19, Sunday.

K-P senior minister Bashir Bilour, on behalf of the provincial government, announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on August 19 across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

**The zonal Reut-e-Hilal Committee of Peshawar also lodged its protest against the central committee’s announcement of celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on August 20.
**
**The zonal committee said that the testimonies received from across the province were not given any consideration by the central committee.
**
**Maulana Ehsanul Haq from the zonal committee, talking to Express News, maintained that their demands since several years have been the same. “The central committee should continue with its meeting till around 11pm. Because we keep receiving testimonies and it takes time to forward it to them. They always end the meeting around 9pm. The same happened this year.”
**
Haq added that the zonal committee has appealed to the provincial government to announce Eid on Sunday. “God willingly, we will celebrate Eid tomorrow.”

LOL at this thread.

I have Pakistani colleague who never fasts, never goes for Eid prayer but always criticises the two Eids in Pakistan.

Bhai logo, there are already plenty of issues in Pakistan, why make so much of it.
