This league will flop. It is a one time circus and once initial excitement fades, people will realise that you can't watch cricket unless you actually know who you are going for.
Remains to be seen. This T20 format is a lot similar to a 3 hour baseball game, and American public (as well as most soccer clubs in Europe and elsewhere) have proven again and again that a franchise model can work, and supporters align themselves with their teams, and will cheer/boo players season by season. Its a different mind-set, where all a supporter wants is for his/her team to win.
