Re: Mullah Bashing a quality of good muslim?
But then, there is no formal clergy (atleast in sunni Islam) so one cant really control that.
.
thats an important point and one of the reaons why religious authority cannot be centrally regulated in sunni islam ....and why so much flak has been given to any kind of religious reformers ( like qutub, khomenini etc) by state controlled mullahs the so-called religious establishment.Yet they cannot be ex-communicated as no one really OWNS islam

Point is, are those Mullah, real Mullah (scholars) or they think that they are Mullah and because they think that they are, so do we .. hence lose the differentiation between self claimed Mullahs and real one.

I actually have no sympathy for these state-controlled Mullahs who are endorsed by the state to only highlite those religious issues which DO NOT threaten the position of the rulers. These Mullahs will call any sort of religious reformers as ikhwani or khariji or any bad word to malign their reputation.Their sweet politicially correct version of islam makes no one happy the terrorist-sympathizers see them ( at times correctly) as sellouts and this hardens their resolve even more, while the moderates the also distrustful cuz of their views on social issues.
