Well that explains it all. They were not selecting names according the criteria of good and bad people.:D They were merely naming their children.

Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
Actually no, you dont name your Childen the name of your enemies, you always try to find a name of a person that you admire etc, so that is clear proof that Hazrat Ali r.a was very close to the first 3 Caliphs. :halo:
Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
Okay yaar. Haz Ali a.s. was close to them.

Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
an interesting counter example to the name argument is that a whole lot of ahadis in shia literature, including a lot of non-flattering ones for certain sahaba are narrated by a guy named Muawiyah. obviously he wouldnt be favourably disposed towards the muawiyah, but just goes to show that it takes a certain number of generations before a name is automatically associated with a prominent personality.
Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
If someone wants to twist, your statement would be considered as "a confession of a Shi'i that Imam 'Ali was close to the three caliphs" . . .lolz :D
Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
We have a famous computer store here called PC WORLD. The advert of PC world on tele and boards carry the slogan: “PC World: The best of both worlds”.
Someone may argue that the due to this advert line, it proves that the owner of the PC World believes in the Hereafter and therefore, a theist.
How good this argument is?
Bro, The same is true for your idea that Imam 'Ali “loved” three caliphs because he names few of his sons as Umar Uthman etc. Read the sermon of Shiqshiqya in Nehjul balagha if you want to read the relation of Imam with the three. The sermon is authentic hadith of Imam even according to Sunni standards.

Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
Grow up man. Don’t you realize yet there is huge difference between shia and wahabi ideology in our school of thought it is honor to be a poet or Noha Kawn of Ahely e Bait specially Shah e Karbala (Imam Hussain) however in your eyes it is Gunah e Kabira.
It is not good idea to taunt or make fun of others do what your religion ask you do and let us do what we want to do. There is no need to act like Taliban in this thread. This is democratic era everyone in this world has a right to observe his/her religion freely.
Re: Muharram Starts!!! Some Important Questions to Ask (Exclusive)
there is absolutely nothing wrong with poetry ....but most of the nohas now made sound like depressing pop songs
secondly there is a way too much attention focussed on nohas ,marsiyas etc amongst the shias
thirdly i am not a wahabi

Remembering Ahyl ul Bait (PBUT) and their sacrifice whether alone in a room, in a masjid full of hundreds of people or in Karbala with thousands of others, or doing matam or not doing matam, or wearing black or not wearing black, or listening to Noha or not. That does not define a lover of Ahyl ul Bait (PBUT). A devout Muslim who believes in Allah and our Prophet’s (PBUH) message believes in commemorating the day Imam Hussain came to Karbala to show the world that his sacrifice, however great it was. Was that so the authentic traditions and beliefs of Islam would not be perverted by power hungry caliphs. If a Muslim chooses to use the month of Muharrem as a month to remember these exalted peoples’ sacrifices and troubles, and utilize it as a medium to connect themselves to Allah and Islam, then anyone’s common sense can tell you it is not harmful in any way to anyone. I was raised in a mixed Sunni/Shia family and I know many Sunnis who do matam on these days and say it is because they feel to do it in their heart as long as it is not harming anyone. And I know Shias who have very little interest in Muharrem and still consider themselves Shia. This is not an obligation but a choice to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) family- which no one – 1400 years later, has been able to replicate, nor will they ever will be able to. No matter how many times they blow themselves up.

Das, I wrote that from my heart, just the way Allah, Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), and Ahyl ul Bait (PBUT) are in my heart, and should be in all Muslim people's hearts'.
