Another day....I must dash!
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
well MC2k, did u ever heard good about Muslims, i mean seriously non of muslim did ever accomplish anything good.
What was the last great invention made by a muslim?
sorry man i cant see anything good these media publicize about muslims (not even about atheist pakistaniz)
and you think nothing is happening bad with muslims.
ok you tell me what will you say, if a westerner woman wants to teach in pakistan, and school asked her to wear scarf otherwise she wont get a job?
I say she doesn't have to wear a Hijab because its not in her religion. Nor does our constitution enforces such an act.
So don't know what point you are trying to get across here

dont worry you will get to the point where i wana take u to.
write now just tell what legal actions would you like to see against the school board/administration? and do you think is it morally right to not to give someone a job on the basis of their clothing?

Against the British teacher whose students named a Teddy bear, Muhammed?
None what so ever.
For the School Board. They should be suspended for making a rukus out of such a stupid matter as this.
and do you think is it morally right to not to give someone a job on the basis of their clothing?
Absolutely.
You would be singing a different tune if a hijabi woman was denied the right to teach
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Although she asked children to pick names, Muhammad was likely the name she wanted to end up with. Whether she knew it was illegal or not is legally immaterial.
People are doing time for more ridiculous charges than this in the US, but this kind of "injustice" makes it to news and films only when victims are Americans or British.
Remember, the Midnight Express (1978), which portrays a horrific image of Turks and shows a young American caught smuggling drugs out of Turkey as victim. Movie never conveys that Billy Haynes was a regular drug smuggler, who was under the DEA watch in Mexico, and it was the Americans in the first place who tipped off the Turks, and the only reason Turkey gave him a 30-year prison term was because US had been pressuring Turkey into getting tough on drugs trafficking to the west.
Remember, Not Without My Daughter (1991), which is just an ordinary domestic drama, but nonetheless, it made it to the silverscreen only because it involved Iran.
Oliver Stone personally visited Turkey in 2004 and apologized publically for his part in Midnight Express.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Its unfortunate but they should just have asked her for an public apology and let her go its not right to imprison someone for this act. However i do think that even though the kids named the bear (knowingly/ unknowingly - with respect or without - in love or hatred) the teacher is responsible. I don't think they are responsible enough and should be guided about such things along with everything else kids to school for.
Mohammad (S.A.W) forgave even the biggest unforgivable sins of people (i.e. whatever they did to hurt him) i don't think that he would have kept this to his heart. There are so many anti Mohammad sites (Astakhfarullah) which have so many negative things about him and since people know they can't do anything about it they ignore it - why is this thing dragged so much. I would have reacted a lot and cursed the lady if it was something which was as bad as the Prophets cartoons or anything which i can say actually offend Islam and the Muslims but this wasn't much harmful... I guess for her to name the stuffed bear was just as normal as naming your pet dog Tom, Dick and Harry poor thing didn't know it would have such extreme reactions - actions are judged by intentions baki Allah knows best so i can't be on either sides of the debate.
Lastly, 40 lashes - Prophet Mohammad didn't like anyone being ill treated for any reason, he bought the slaves for bulky prices and set them free because their masters used to beat them up and she (the teacher) is a woman for god sake. Opposing every single thing and such actions dont get people in heaven one must do the other good stuff to get closer to Allah and earn a ticket to the heaven.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
i cudn;t believe how ridiculous this was when i heard it on the news, It just shows people have truly lost the plot, it was a teddy bear for crying out loud, and teh class children voted 4 it 2, so what is wrong with that, honestly, i'm speeechless,
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Peace All
I love Islam, I love my Prophet (SAW), what a wonderful name he has ...
... I love my teddy .... I know I'll name my teddy Muhammad ...
Get over it people ... I would name my teddy Muhammad or with my own name in a heartbeat ...
People should understand that we should give good names ... really this hypersensitive stuff just shows that we have imbalanced emotional attachments without much rational basis behind our faith.
It would be a very different matter if someone tried putting the "durud" after the teddies name!
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Poor lady...!
She should leave that country (or at least that school district). These so called Islamists do not deserve to be educated. Let them live in the caves, and enjoy the blissful life of ignorance.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
^ no relation to Rebel X.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Needlessly to say..this is crap.. these people need better education...
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
**charges were being prepared “under article 125 of the criminal law” which covers insults against faith and religion. **
So she need to understand and at least say sorry but she is denying any responsibility.
I remember when I was a child on PTV they showed a drama named “Francis” very wealthy family a son is coming from USA and telling them to prepare a nice room with AC for Francis and their servants are really poor and need help they are not helping them at the end Francis was a dog (kuuta) Many Christians wrote them letters and said Francis is our prophet you disrespect him when named that dog Francis writer and director of drama apologized to minorities. Any one feel hurt. Sh she must have known that Danish or Dutch cartoonist issue how she dare to do that:aq:
PS: Kutty ko yeh log ulad sy bhi bra darj adaity hain tab bhi ghusa ker giay thy:chai:

A very good conspiracy theory. Maybe it was the jewish lobby which forced her to do this. One more thing, on that particular day no jewish children came to school. It is another matter that the school does not have any jewish children.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Happy SimpleMe? She only ended up with a 15 days sentence and deportation: Sill, it was outrageous enough for the British Foreign Secretary to summon the Sudanese ambassador to his office in London to explain the verdict.
Guess, you write only about your first-hand or personal experiences? Because everyone else is getting it from somewhere else.
I never wrote about 4,000 Jews not turning up for work in my 9/11: Connecting the Dots, although an Israeli company Zim-American Shipping pulled out on 9/4. Nearly 500 foreign nationals from 80 countries lost their lives at WTC, none Israeli's.
There's a lot of what amounts to nothing more than gossip, and this is what 9/11 debukers love to go after. They never touch the substance.
9/11, Afghan and Iraq war are foretold in zio-con's PNAC. They are driving the American foregin policy, while they have the Christians rally behind them for their own prejudices and pretenses of national interests, such as terrorism and Peak Oil, both of which Russia calls zio-creatred scams.
So, the reason democracy cannot last is that there is no longer money left for both the democracy and the Mercedes, and given that it's the zio-cons driving the American foreign policy, I'm certain that the US will go for the Mercedes. Here, real Mercedes being implementing the Protocols of Zion, which is what zio-cons are really after.
Anyway, it's all just around the corner, so let time be the judge. Their super-greedy spokesman OBL already has a new tape out, and I think he will be pretty busy next year too. But remember, he is only a spokesman. It's the Israelis arranging all of the actual "work" outside the US, and Americans inside the US.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
you are assuming a lot
but regardless
this is a nonsensical issue

Why should I be happy that she has ended up with a 15 day sentence and deportation. Just think about the magnitude of the crime. She just name a teddy bear "Muhammed". She did not intend any insult to the prophet(pbuh). It only shows how this issue was blown out of proportion. Dont tell me that there are no bad people in this world who have the name "Muhammed". You get the context right.. Please think before you start feeling sad that she got ony a 15 day sentence.

She should be given an apology and there should be a public statement declaring that there is nothing wrong with naming your stuffed toys with names of good meanings. Think about it. If it was named Iblis (devil's name) then who would want to hug it?
It's a teddy and teddy's are nice things.
You know after this so many kids will probably secretly name their teddies with the beautiful name "Muhammad" and afterall the most common and popular name in the world is "Muhammad" or it's variants.
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
"They came up with eight names including Abdullah, Hassan and Muhammad," Mr Boulos said, adding that she then had the children vote on a name. **Twenty out of the 23 children chose Muhammad as their favourite name. **
This is the best part of the news story. :)
Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
What is wrong if a teddy is called muhamed? There's nothing prohibiting use of that name.
On top of that the teacher gets jailed for this?
No wonder the world increasingly views muslims as findamental primitive morons!
I hope a thousand muslim organizations quickly stand up and defend the teacher.
