Islamabad-Peshawar M1 motorway to enhance trade between Pakistan, central Asian countries
ISLAMABAD: The opening of Islamabad Peshawar motor way will encourage the trade between Pakistan, China, Afghanistan and central Asian countries.
This was stated by President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Nasir Khan on the opening ceremony of M-1 track. The President ICCI highly appreciated the efforts of chairman National Highway Authority Major General Imtiaz Ahmed who completed this project with
utmost efforts with scheduled time. The completion of other such projects will also enhance the business activities among the country.
These views were expressed by the President ICCI Nasir Khan on the occasion of opening ceremony of M-1 motor track. He added that Pakistan is able to complete these projects with its own resources due to its sound foreign exchange position.
President said the motor way would provide faster and alternative route between Islamabad and Peshawar and cater for international traffic from central Asian republics. He said the motor way will not only usher in a new
era of progress and prosperity, but it would have serious impact on the regional and international level.
Further he said that the project will facilitate smooth flow of traffic, reduce traveling time to considerable extend and minimize the chances of accidents. It will also contribute towards the socio-economic up lift of the people of the entire area, lead to greater provincial harmony and will give boost economic trade activities of country’s important industrial cities lying along the motorway.
