This has been long in coming. We should not forget that the project was started in PM Nawaz Sharif’s first term. Too bad that politikos after him kept on messing up this important project of national importance.
Credit goes to Prez. Musharraf to finally put an end to all the bikkering and get this highway completed.
With all the doom and gloom thanks to suicider Mullahs, this news shows that we the Pakistanis are a strong bunch, and we will deal with Talibanic meance as well.

It took exactly 3 hours the last time I drove to Isloo to Peshawar, time to get to Golra Shareef not included... My bet is that this would now take about two to two and a half, but alot depends on what part of Peshawar this links to... Zakk, u got any info on that?

I don't know how many of you are fans of the folk singer Ata-ullah-Khan Niazi EesaKhailvi.
In his famous song he asks his beloved "you go to Pindi and Peshawar, How come you never come to EasaKhel?".
Now that Pindi and Peshawar are even closer (thanks to the 6 lane highway), poor Ata ullah will have to wait even longer for his beloved to show up.
May be our next project should be to link EesaKehl via another motorway.
Kidding aside, we must link our undeveloped areas along Wester borders through such highways. That's the only way to bring opportunities to the deserving people.

Ahh finallyyyyyyyy its overrrrr....since my childhood i have been seeing diversions on road to peshawer due to construction I hope its over now it takes quite lesser time now

Yeah it was just disheartening to see the end of Motorway while traveling from Lahore towards north. Now it is all ----- the ------ way to Peshawar.

Another good thing that Nawaz Sharif did during his term was to give kidney failure patients free dialysis. The kidney failure people need dialysis to live and without dialysis they will be dead in a week or two, while with dialysis they can live for 10-20 years. They require three sessions of dialysis every week and this costs around Rs50,000 per month. He also approved 7 new kidney centres. But with arrival of Zill-e-Subhani the free dialysis was scrapped and many of the patients who could nto afford to pay died.

i guess about 70% of total developments in pakistan was done in the last 8 years.
also not forget number of roads have more then doubled since musharraf took over, thats a huge development.
we also would have had more if it wasnt for the thief justice. but now he is dealt with we will probably see new high rise towers rising and malls coming up in our city like szc and other numerous real estate developments

Inshallah, Emergency Rule will now remove all the vindictive interferences by any judges in the infrastructural development of Pakistan that has reached historic levels under Musharraf.

The latest technology being used in Pakistan’s motorways.
E-toll system introduced on motorways
The National Highway Authority in collaboration with National Database and Registration Authority has introduced an automatic electronic toll system on motorways. In first phase, the system will be available for motorists using Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore toll plazas for both entry and exit. Later on, the system will be extended to all toll plazas located on other routes like M-1, M-2 and M-3.
An essential component of this system is an electronic tag that is now available free of cost from Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore Toll Plazas. Those who want to secure the chip will be required to submit full particulars about their person, details of bank account and other information. The NHA staff posted at the plazas for selling of the tag will register all such details in their system. Travellers will then be required to stick the chip on the top or front of their vehicles. The NHA computerised system will automatically read the chip when they pass through the toll plazas and let them pass by lifting the bar giving a green signal.
A very interesting feature of the new system is that the required amount would be electronically deducted from the bank account of the motorist. The e-toll will also have a fast tracking system installed which will detect wrong information givers. As such, in case there is no amount in the account of the person concerned the NHA electronic system will recognise it and signal stop by flashing the red light and the bar would not be lifted. The newly-introduced e-toll will provide motorists and travellers a number of facilities. It will save time, spare motorists and transporters from standing in long queues for obtaining entry cards and payment of toll and also enable vehicles pass through toll plazas without stopping at the time of entry and exit on the motorways.

Captain, I fail to understand that why its hard to give the credit where it due? our problem is that we love or hate people and not their acts (and I am included in “our”)
