Actually, the bit in bold is not true:

There are multiple other sources confirming this, check out Sunnipath or Islam Q&A for more info. It all comes under issues of compatibility and is v.logical when u think about it. If a man wants to live with his wife in the box room of mummy and daddy’s house his whole life he should find a wife who is willing to accept that (and it is not recommended to live with inlaws anyway), not one who has been used to having loads of her own space (and privacy) and then expect her to ‘put up or shut up’ under the guise of Islam. Imo us desis are by far the worst when it comes to giving the rights women are entitled to in Islam and if u say anything ur labelled a raging feminist..

Nope NOT true and I will explain why.
There is difference between what is recommended and what is true and false.

According to the fatwa above (if it is a fatwa) then the MAN should always be looking for a woman whose father earns or makes or has less than him. Thats the only way this will becomes true, since in most cases a woman is living with her parents and mostly the father of the girl is the bread winner.

Having said that, you have to be able to see that the above ranting says that a woman’s standard of living has to be the same or above what she had before marriage. This means that the man will definately always bring in a wife from a comparatively “poorer” family. Which goes totally against Islam.

Remember, PBUH married Hazrat Khadija who was much richer than him.
