MQM walks out from Swat deal NA vote [merged]

Re: MQM walks out from Swat deal NA vote [merged]

^ what about raising hands for opposing the deal?

Re: MQM walks out from Swat deal NA vote [merged]

A cheap publicity stunt by MQM. No surprises there.

MQM could afford to "walk out" because its vote for or against would not have made a single bit of difference, the ordinance passed w/out MQM any way. If anything this shinanigan by MQM has only worked to prove that MQM is a pseudo-secular party, that lives off of publicity thrills.

MQM had the luxury to "walk out" because its comfy in Karachi/Hyd, its govt. is not being threatened. PPP on the other hand had to worry about ANP withdrawing from province and center, which would have proven disasterous for the democracy of Pakistan. So in effect, MQM's act pretty much translates "We are against Swat peoples' wishes, and would not care if democracy is destabilized". It's a known fact mqm would have found itself shaking hands with a general, if one came. That has always been the case.

so to the thread starter and galvinizing first post "boo hoo! the ordinance passed without mqm." thank you very much. Next time make noise when the people of Swat are being hunted down, and start a rally instead of telePhony khitaabs. Or better yet, make noise about drone attacks which kill 96% civilians for the sake of 4% bad guys :), n walk out over that.

Already many rallies has been conducted in Karachi against talib terrorists while the state and every other party surrenders.

Poor Sikh families are being asked to pay jizia taxes as taliban takes over a states functions. Soon they may appoint their own ambassadors.

Vigoratus

whatever it was, it was better than the sheeple sitting in our assemblies who unanimously surrendered to these moronic militants.

I agree this may very well have been a cheap publicity stunt. I wonder what stunts the other parties were playing.

Re: MQM walks out from Swat deal NA vote [merged]

other parties have gotten a few things right in recent history that has put them on the national map once again.

  1. Judiciary march, people from all parties except mqm participated. mqm did its best to coordinate with ppp to arrest people and block their way coming from karachi towards lahore and onwards to rwp/isb

  2. working with all the parties to pass swat ordinance (giving people a system they wanted since 1979 when it was taken away from them), while mqm walks out as a loner.

shouldn't mqm have been a prime participant in both, because it represents the people of pakistan, and a middle class that is voice of pakistan?

Re: MQM walks out from Swat deal NA vote [merged]

Yeah, they should have.
But what they did, was still much much better than those who supported this deal.
So still I don't see why they should be criticised.

Why make it a habit to criticise mqm for everything good and bad, they do, while ignoring those who are really bending over for mullahs here.

Re: MQM walks out from Swat deal NA vote [merged]

Why criticise MQM? If someone is trying to put bad actions as good actions then what do you expect? :)
