Once again proving they are one of the few tolerant forces left in pakistan sadly. Only party I believe that did not follow along with surrendering pakistan to taliban terrorists. I know for this, MQM will be called kafirs, hindus, hindustanis, machars, panahgeers, bhaiyyas, RAW agents etc., but that is a small price to pay for what is right.
Proud of you MQM that despite taliban threat to kill anyone opposing their surrender terms and even though it is a small token gesture, it was still the only party to make this gesture. :k:
President signs Nizam-e-Adl regulation after NA approval
ISLAMABAD ( 2009-04-13 22:19:30 ) :President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday has signed Nizam-e-Adl regulation. Earlier National Assembly unanimously approved the resolution of Nizam-e-Adl regulation 2009, Aaj TV reported.
regulation was tabled by minister for parliamentary affairs senator Babar Awan that was approved by the house unanimously.
However, parliamentarians from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) did not take part in the voting on the bill.
Earlier, members of National Assembly belonging to Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Peoples Party (Shairpao) protested against tabling the regulation draft in parliament, the channel said.
Addressing the house on the occasion, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said various political leaders were consulted in this connection before presenting the draft in the NA as the federal government wants national consensus and harmony of viewpoints over the regulation.
It was a protest against forced surrender agreement and it would not look right if they voted no to "sharia" even though it is not even real sharia, but that is how it would be portrayed.
No one else voted against it.
although I think there is more to it, abstaining can be spun in diff ways depending on which way the wind blows, voting against reduces the spin possibilities in future.
but its good to see, for whatever reasons, one group that is not willing to sell out the country to the militants
Tolerant of what exactly? They have a 30 year record of fighting every ethnic group and political party in Karachi.
Tolerance is just about religion? what about ethnic and cultural tolerance?
have you missed the “in” before intolerant?
Im glad they have not signed the bill and i wont be calling them any of them names that for sure but I laugh at the fact when their suppoters consider them “tolerant”.
Are you also proud of the fact that the MQM has made threats and killed opposition to them too?
They have been tolerant towards those that have been tolerant towards them. They have not been tolerant towards those hell bent on killing or throwing mohajris into the arabian sea.
So no, MQM does not have a reputation of being run over by others and in a jungle like Pakistan that is the only way to survive. When the taliban come knocking (and they will), MQM won't be playing dead.
No one can deny that MQM is the only credible political and civil force that is resisting our country's march to dark ages, led by GHQ and closet-Taliban supporters.
PPP and ANP proven to be cowards and opportunists. PML-N is unfortunately full of Zaid Hamid clones.
All these guys who went along with this so called peace deal will be crying once the Taliban law a.k.a. Nizam-e-Adl is implemented on their sisters and daughters.
Will they cry "fake video" when their sisters are whipped?
Forget whipping, wait till they hear about how stoning actually works in reality. These are large pieces of stones being thrown at you at high velocity. Brutal

Why didn't this so called credible political and civil force voted NO of the resolution???
the situation is resolution got all YES votes and the only force which is against this resolution went out for coffee...
what a Dramay bazzii
MQM surely is waiting for the next move if they have had said NO, then there is little room to move.. now they can say what ever they want... I'll not be surprised if tommorrow they say that, we were not against this resolution ( as they said about the reinstatement of Judiciary), we were had differences on the techincal points... otherwise in principal we agree to the whole thing...
Now what i don't understand.. why MQM is still hand in hand with PPP govt.. they should give up the ministries in protest.. same like PML(N) did... but i guess the party who have a history of politicial black mailing is upto something else... in that "something else" will only come when they have some stake in the Govt...
Or maybe ther aware of the fact that if they leave the govt.. the cunning Zardari will kick their ass real hard.. as PPP did in 90s
Why crying over a Yes or NO against the vote? MQM has walked out and it shows more than a NO! Just like Ganjay sharif & Co walked out from the voting for President Mr Musharraf for his 3rd term in 2007! Same rule is applied here!

you are right Ganjay League resigned and re-resigned and so on, they changes their mind 3 times in a days, yep it was PPP who walked out, well NRO was for both Ganjay and AAZ. I dont think MQM need any thing like that at this time, they are very clear and vocal about their agenda, they said what they are looking ahead in favor of the country!

. i heard Attorney General (then) Abdul Qayum making this comment, that NS is not eligible to benefit from NRO.... so it was MQM and PPP who got benefited from it.. and i guess this was the reason both were against the reinstatement of a Judge who took action against such ordinance..

Yeah because NS was already charged and convicted, and was on exile by choice after making a 10 years agreement that he denies! but since he broke the agreement, so he could face the charges and hence this NRO can be benifitial for him too!
Regarding PPP, well NRO was for Late BB and AAZ and some top jiaalays, they are getting the benifit already!
I dont think MQM is against the CJ for only this reason, there could be series of serious issues, but oh well he is already working! ...
I guess it was Presnt President who was the biggest hurdle against CJ, not MQM ...

I think we agreed on few points up there... and lets not discuss CJ any more ( iam bored)
So back to topic
Any Suggestion for improvement!!! i.e. What should we as a nation do to come out of the situation we are in... ( please put some practical solutions)
But this is nothing new...........This has been in place in the region for years now in different forms why didtn MQM protest against it earlier why now. Also, the arrangement is with Sufi Muhammed, I am not his fan but the man has been peacfully running has campaign since 1988-89 I think. Lets see if MQM will like to sit in opposition as protest against it, it will be a new experience for them.
