No doubt, MQM was a terrorist organisation and their party workers cannot escape the brand of terrorists despite their being clean of such acts. It means that not every single person working for MQM as a political party was bad, some were good too. But since the party chief and important heads were criminals, they should also be called criminals. And no, I don’t mind if you call MQM supporters Urdu speaking terrorists. You are free to make your comments.
However, Urdu speaking community, is generally the cleanest of all communities in Pakistan. And the reasons are many: One, they are not tribal like the natives in Sindh, Punjab, KP and Balochistan. They don’t follow tribal practices and don’t have tribal warfare. Literacy among Urdu speakers is highest. They make up the least of illegal immigrants to Europe, the champions are no doubt the people of Punjab. Recently many Pakistanis were killed in Balochistan, all from Punjab, and they were heading to Europe. After that another number of Pakistanis were drowned near Libya, once again from Punjab?
Then count the crimes against women; acid attacks, gang rapes, domestic violence… how many among mohajirs than in Punjab and rest of the country?
Kasur… this word is enough for you to understand what I mean to say.
**
In short, Urdu speaking community was the finest group of people living in Pakistan, but Punjabi military establishment ruined it when it decided to use some of our people against Sindhi nationalists and PPP in 1980s.
Punjabis did the same thing to Biharis (refugees in East Pakistan). Biharis were fooled by Punjabis in the name of patriotism and were used by the army against Bengalis and Mukti Bahini. In return, Biharis received nothing but a bad name both in Bangladesh and in present Pakistan.**
Urdu speaking are living in a city that enjoys most of pakistan commecrial activiteis because of import and export forrest of the country. There is no rocket science behind why they are less likely to opt for imigration, karachi has more options than any other city of paksitan. Going for eduction and following no tribes is out of same reason they living biggest metro of pakistan.
Urdu speakig are in tough competetion with tribal evils of rural sindh and punjab as they love to support MQM despit knowing they are bhatta khor, target killers, and haramkhor.
Rural sindhis and punjbis are ignorants but it make urdu speaking worse in this term as they are choosing MQM despite being most educated.
intestingly, once I said karachiietes claim to be most educated yet voting for mqm, most karachiietes on this forum denied the claim.
Will this hammering and insult tolerate by Farooq Sattar? It looks MQM will further disintegrate to its logical end. On positive note, unlike AH who normally prepared ‘bori band lashen’ or resorting to target killing to remove opponents, this reconditioned or rehabilitated MQM is still following the decency norms after demise of AH as their leader. But how long will they be decent, yet to be seen. The target killers, murderers, conveners of torture cells, and burning women and children alive are still roaming openly and active in this fascist party.
MQM-P ki sunsani khaiz movie , is going on after many twists and turns but seems people are bored with repeated arguments…
Not much masala any more. Wud be fun when some of them will join PPP.
IT shows how much long and tall claims one made , once u come in power , u start the same dirty things that u blaming on others…
Unless u have a strong leader who can hold grip of the middle level leadership.
Ours is not the country where the system is strong and ppl are dispensable.
Urdu speaking (muhajir) community is surviving because of their skills and qualifications in the urban centres of Sindh. They are denied the resources of this province by the Sindhis (of PPP) in the name of quota system and through the divide and rule politics of Pakistan’s Punjabi military elites.
In the 1988 elections, MQM emerged as the third largest party in Pakistan and it rang an alarm for the establishment who didn’t want to see muhajirs play a key role in Pakistani politics. Punjabi (so called Pakistani) agencies got them involved in violence followed by division of MQM through ISI sponsored Muhajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi).
Altaf Hussain, good or bad, was the most effective force to keep muhajirs united under the banner of his party. It’s nonsensical to say that Altaf Hussain for the first time chanted anti-Pakistan slogans a couple of years back. Altaf had done it from the beginning. This time he was used by the agencies and that was the end of Altaf. Minus Altaf meant break up of muhajir unity.
I agree that Altaf Hussain’s party was infiltrated by criminal elements and terrorists, but it doesn’t mean MQM was not effective for muhajirs. MQM provided a strong feeling of security to Urdu speaking community from the oppression of Pashtoons and Sindhis in this province. Now the Punjabi agencies have divided it further so that it will lose the ground or will be forced to unite under the ex-President and Army Chief, Parvez Musharraf.
I think Parvez Musharraf is a good choice to lead MQM. He may unite muhajir factions to work under the supervision of Punjabi military establishment.
**MQM or Muhajirs have to be pro-Punjabi military establishment if they want to survive in the face of oppressive Sindhis and Pashtoons.
**
The establishment is forcing MQM factions to unite under the military patronage of Parvez Musharraf. I don’t think it’s a bad idea. For development of muhajirs and Karachi, it’s important that they cooperate with the establishment.
After Altaf Hussain, there’s no single person in the muhajir community who can lead them. Farooq Abdus Sattar, Khalid Maqbool, Amir Khan, all of them are just third class leaders with no leadership qualities. Parvez Musharraf may lead muhajirs from Dubai via ‘telephonic khitab’ of Altaf Hussain style
lolz @ typical rona dhona of quota system. Why are you after 1 percent of total jobs(including pvt sector) Karachi as a city posses? Because you also love to do corruption joining govt institutes? or just want a point to spread racism?
isnt already KMC full of mqmers?
1 percent custom officer lag k kaun sa pahaarr torr lo gy?
Well, Sindhis of PPP do not share powers and resources with muhajirs that’s why Karachi is a Kachra-city (garbage city) with broken roads, rotten hospitals, deserted parks and broken playgrounds.
Karachi earns the most for Pakistan; but look at Lahore which doesn’t earn even half of what Karachi does. Lahore is developed because it’s ruled by Punjabis. There’s no power sharing with Pashtoons or Sarayekis in Lahore.
Karachi’s best period was under Parvez Musharraf. Musharraf was muhajir and not Punjabi, so he was sympathetic towards Urdu speaking community. He gave Karachi its due share. Sindhi elites couldn’t usurp muhajir rights in the Musharraf era.
And racism? What’s that? Define racism by looking at your face into a mirror first.
more than 50%GPD share is from Punjab. excluding KPK and rural sindh, what is left from Karachi?
lolz again same rant mqmers learnt from Altaf. These mqmers just believe that assembling vehicles, manufacturing for uniliver/P&G et all is the real economy. Its consumer based economy, nothing to be proud of. You are doing donkey work. You have nothing to tell me how you helped reduce the trade gap. want to see something, go to Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, cities of home industries.
Infact Pakistan’s economy is agrarian.
When Pakistan was created in 1947, Quaid-e-Azam sent special flights and trains to bring qualified and skillful muhajirs from India who were to fill the bureaucracy. This happened because Punjabis, Sindhis and the rest in Pakistan were less educated and had no experience of running state affairs.
Muhajirs always believed in Muslim nationhood, as they were the leaders of Pakistan movement. But Sindhis, Pashtoons in particular forced this refined community to leave Muslim nationalism and adopt ethnic identity.
The birth of MQM was justified, Altaf Hussain wasn’t wrong in the beginning. He was only cornered by the Punjabi establishment so as to break the muhajir strength.
In 2017, nominal GDP of Karachi was $64 billion compared to that of Lahore which was $35 billion.
Punjab is landlocked and depends on Karachi for it being the port city. Punjab cannot survive without Karachi. This is an edge which nature has granted to Karachi and this gives the province of Sindh average revenue collection by 65.44%.
Yes, Punjab is landlocked and its irrigation resources are not a gift granted by nature but Karachi’s coastline is a edge. classic racism.
lolz. keep on doing donkey work and making people believe they are super technologists.
