MQM resigning from assemblies

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Civilian government is khassi, pardon my French. These devils were created by an army general. Off and on military generals have supported this fascists party to divide Sindh on ethnic ground and to suppress PPP. But these retard generals did not realize that ‘man proposes God disposes’. These devils who were empowered by 12 jamat pass, would come to their arses too and shut Pakistan without much difficulty.

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Err… then you have a bigger problem, much bigger. For example wut if MQM stops causing disturbance today, tomorrow it can be lyari Aman committee, then it can be ANP and so on and so forth. So why not you make the rule of law enforcement strong by a strong govt and then you can conveniently play whak-a-mole with these issues.

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Till end of 2014 we all were helpless against MQM because of the backing of army MQM was stronger than civilian government and still we don’t know on what day MQM will be ‘good’ again . This is our establishment only who always derail & destroy the system .

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

mqm was not created politically but by a powerful army general. They have always been controlled by 12 jamaat pass. If you are Pakistani, you should know that army is more powerful than QAS’s or N$'s government. Hence they can not be blamed if major disturbances take place.

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Very wrong.

And there’s nothing PPP can do the army can’t deal with.

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

It’s pretty clear they’ve lost a lot of their footsoldiers in Karachi.

It’s why the target killings have almost stopped, alongside a large decrease in general crime and the fact they can no longer shut Karachi down like they have done in the past.

Have they still got thugs they can call on? Of course. They are so deeply ingrained in society getting them all is going to take more time. However the crux of them have been killed/caught/captured or are no doubt definitely in the sights of intelligence agencies. If they still had the ability to cause chaos like they did in the past, we wouldn’t be just hearing stupid threats like we do from their traitorous workers, we’d be seeing it in the streets.

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

I bleieve it is a smart tactical move by MQM with multi dimensional benifits.

  1. They register their complaint about operation
  2. AH checking his control over MNA + MPA ( very important for AH )
  3. Showing the majority of KHI ppl the difference in approach about their resignation vs PTI resignations hence increeasing chances of sympathy votes ( if bi elections take place which I doubt )

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

You can start it with power of your guns but end will be more bad than EP

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

I appreciate the bold and clear style of MQM while they resign
Now everyone is on back foot

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Yes killings have stopped temporarily as these target killers are hiding under the instructions of AH. Rangers have given list of 187 target killers to mqm leadership to handover these killers. Unless every target killer is killed, Karachi will see no peace in future.

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Ap not likely  If N$ accept their resignations, perhaps this will be end of mqm. As rangers have destroyed their myth of making Karachi as their hostage. Read the latest news on mqm’s resignations. It is a chess game, mqm is a losing party. MQM is no more a cohesive party as it was used to be. Zardari definitely played a destroyer role by allowing free hand to corrupting these b@st@rds in his last five years rule. ZM was the first one to strike openly to their credibility, reputation four years ago, when AH crazy b@st@4d sung on tv, 'burqay main rahne do burqa na uthao"

What led to MQM’s en masse resignation - Pakistan - DAWN.COM

KARACHI: The resignations by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement parliamentarians did not just take Islamabad by surprise.

A last-minute decision, it was not planned or well-thought out by those who turned up in the speaker’s office yesterday afternoon.

In fact, none of the National or Sindh assembly members had even discussed the option in private.

On late Tuesday night the national and provincial level parliamentarians (in Karachi and in Islamabad) gathered for a meeting along with members of the coordination committee and some participants from the US. In their various locations, they were addressed by the party chief from London.

Some senior MQM leaders joined the meeting from the US while the MQM members of the National Assembly and the Senate were listening from the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad. Members of the coordination committee were present in Karachi and London.

And a severe dressing down followed.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain lashed out at them for their cowardice and betrayal. Unclear on how to placate their party leader, the elected members offered to resign and to the shock and surprise of some of them, he agreed before banging the phone on them.

Sources said Mr Hussain was fuming because he felt that his parliamentarians had failed to defend him in the National Assembly. In a speech on August 10, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had described Altaf Hussain as the root cause of the problem.

**During his address on Tuesday night Mr Hussain especially criticised Senator Dr Faroogh Nasim, Rauf Siddiqui and Faisal Sabzwari for “deceiving” him; he named them individually.
**
**He repeatedly told the legislators that they were of no use if they could not raise their voice against the “oppression and atrocities being carried out against the MQM”.
**
More than one MQM activist, who is privy to the development, told Dawn that at this point a participant of the meeting, who is not an elected representative, said that the MQM lawmakers should resign from NA, the Senate and the Sindh Assembly.

**Dr Farooq Sattar seconded the view.
**
Mr Hussain who had worked himself up into a state of rage by then said that the parliamentarians could do whatever they wanted and hung up.

**The MQM parliamentarians were left with no choice but to draft their resignation letters, while members of the coordination committee in Karachi, London and the US began an emergency session to review their options in case the resignations were accepted.

On Wednesday morning, Mr Hussain endorsed the decision to hand in the resignations and instructed the MQM parliamentarians to submit them.

However, several MQM leaders privately believed that quitting the parliament is not a right decision at the moment, especially because Mr Hussain had himself conceded that he should have not boycotted the 1993 general elections.

Even Farooq Sattar’s statement on Wednesday was seen by some as reflecting this reluctance – after some news channels reported that the MQM resignations had been accepted, he is quoted to have said that the government had a different policy to deal with the PTI resignations compared to how it handled the MQM’s.**

However, it is important to note that this was an interpretation because publicly, Mr Sattar as well as others stood by the resignations.

“He [Mr Hussain] took the decision and everyone now owns it,” said a senior MQM lawmaker who had attended the meeting on Tuesday night.

**“There was talk of a minus-Altaf formula and that we would not be allowed to contest the local government election,” the MQM leader said.
**
Now, he said, the local government elections would have to be delayed if the resignations were accepted and by-elections held.

“For Altaf Bhai this is a win-win situation…he told them [the establishment] that he is still in control,” said another MQM leader, requesting anonymity.

Meanwhile, Mr Hussain paid rich tributes to the MQM parliamentarians for submitting their resignations.

“You have made the whole nation proud,” he told them over phone from London, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.

Just killing of target killers is not going to cut it. We don’t want to repeat 1992 operation again where main culprits ran to London, and the puppets were killed. More puppets will be born again.

Army needs to put the whole leadership behind the bar, and supply chain of money and ammunition needs to be cut for this gang

Re: MQM resigning from assemblies

Agreed. But target killers are criminals they should be hanged for killing innocent people. No civilized country in the world let them go scot free. Most of the mqm leaders are also killers and they should be behind bars and punished according to their heinous crimes.

I don’t understand one thing. Rangers, for all practical purposes is a force that is under the authority of interior ministry and army combined. The general impression is that army supports mqm, and govt does not want mqm to resign, yet their combined subordinate unit, rangers that is, is going after MQM.

My mind is eating circles now
