very disturbing news…as far as i remember, this is the first time pakistani establishment has openly declared MQM a terrorist organization.
If these news are true and are proved in court, MQM shd be banned right away. but its blind voters will not accept anything and will label everything state propaganda. they will block the largest city for good.
but I think it is abt time govt take some serious steps. Make a case on merit, go to the court and if MQM is indeed spreading terror in pakistan, go ahead and ban it for good. enough is enough.

MQM is a reality which establishment need to accept. Similarly the wrong doing of ppl affiliated to MQM is also a reality which ppl of karachi need to accept. Both need to be accepted and resolved accordingly.

Media trial’ MQM claims MQM leader Wasay Jalil took a pot shot at SSP Rao Anwar on Twitter, saying that a media trial of MQM is being carried out.
MQM leaer Ali Raza Abidi said this will give further resolve to people of Karachi.

The party has announced to hold a press conference at 7pm to answer the allegations levelled against them.
Just last month, Rangers had raided MQM’s headquarters in Azizabad— Nine Zero— where it arrested indicted criminals and seized weapons.
In March, death-row prisoner Saulat Mirza’s footage levelling serious allegations on MQM also made rounds on television channels.
In a nine-minute video statement aired by almost every news channel, Mirza levelled serious allegations against the MQM chief, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and other leaders of the party and said that, like other workers, he was used by the party and then “thrown away like tissue paper”.
MQM’s leadership has on several occasions in the past two months said the party was going through a media trial in a campaign to malign its image. Today’s press conference by SSP Malir is also likely to be seen by the party in the same light.

This in my opinion is a bad move, you should capture the criminal elements of ANY party and prosecute and punish them. If the related party exerts pressure to release the captured terrorist/criminals then that must be exposed so their supporters will know their truthfulness. But to label the party as “terrorist” which is participating in elections and is an ally in the government then it just shows a different game plan.

Nothing new, all the police and security agencies is to do to:
Get all the gangsters and terrorists killed, i.e. make an example out of them.
No one should be allowed for Hartaal business
No more qurbani key khaal, and or zakat, fitrana, or any charity money from people to any political or welfare party
anyone carrying illegal guns should be taken as terrorist and simply kill them
There should not be any no go area in any part of the city.
There shouldn’t be any ethnic religious or any kind of hate speech kind of thing, anyone doing that should be taken under terrorist
All waderas and other big guns if cannot control their kids, then state should take care of them…
Last not least, for time being, do not arrest any terrorist, just simply kill them.

Any person or group or organization, which is involve in street crimes, extortion, kidnapping, bombing, target killing or killers for rent, supply illegal and/or banned weapons and ammunition, facilitate terrorist and/or try to pose them as heroes, spread ethnic, religious or any kind of hatred through actions or speeches or literature should be considered as terrorist.

N$ started it in 1992 on orders of establishment , later PPP government continued it & than again N$ continued it till 1999
When they were almost out , Mush came and establishment again became patron of MQM and a puppet of establishment from MQM is still a governor of Sindh . MQM killed all 200 police officer who were leading this 92-99 operation during army rule lead by the traitor Mush .

This i believe is dirty game of Zardari, who have used this SP to give MQM a breather… nothing more… we all know how dirty Zardari and Rehman Malik of PPP can be…
Now there is a ticket that Qayam Ali Shah have taken notice of SP’s press conference… so MQM have been made hero again…twice by IK and now by Zardari using state apparatus.. Shame on PPP

In an ideal world, mafias like MQM should not exist but i don’t think we should try to ban them because millions of people have sympathies for them on ethnic basis. It’s so easy in 3rd world countries to get thousands behind you by pretending you are fighting for their rights. I am sure i can gain thousands of followers myself if i start Jiye Faisalabad party for example claiming it’s not getting due attention that it deserves and it’s being neglected and all that crap.
No matter what proofs are provided against MQM, their supporters will reject JITs, police, Army or any other agency reports. For sake of Pakistan, i really hope Altaf gets arrested in UK so can’t play this victim card.

that is why i said in the opening post that this is a very tricky situation …and govt and army shd handle it on merit. if there are indeed solid proofs available that MQM is involved in state terrorism and is sending people to india to get trained, then it shd not be ignored no matter what the consequences are. for how long will you ignore political terrorism?
on the other hand, we need to be mindful that our establishment is master of dirty games…is this another dirty game by the establishment?
as always, no one will have answers to any of these questions..SSP malair is already suspended.

I think the ongoing operation should be conducted low profile without third influences. That way they can investigate and arrest the real prime culprits regardless of party affiliation. It will have a stronger impact in the long term. These antics by every other person will only embolden MQM leadership to play the propaganda, victim cards and strengthen their appeal in an already fractured city. Also these people speaking so vocally may have a damaging effect on the success of the operation.

The liberal political parties like PPP, anp, jui and all anti establishment groups should offer complete and unflinching support to mqm at this juncture and it’s them challenging the establishment at the moment.

****KARACHI: **Reacting to comments made by **Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in his telephonic speech early on Friday, Director General ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa said they were uncalled for and irresponsible.

Addressing his supporters via a telephonic address at Nine-Zero early on Friday morning, Altaf had referred to the 1971 surrender of the armed forces, using it to ask why the party was looked on as traitors when some of its members sought refuge in India after fleeing prosecution in the aftermath of the 1992 operation against them.
Altaf had then also asked his supporters start “commando” training.
His speech came after SSP Malir Rao Anwar held a press conference on Thursday where alleged that the MQM had ties with Indian spy agency Raw and presented two suspects who claimed they had ties with the MQM and had received weapons training in India.
