MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony

Re: MQM Headquaters is symbol of religious tolerence and harmony

decent 6chora, thanks for your post. I guess people who did not have to deal with domiciles issue and quotas that worked against them will not understand

I have non punjai friends whose families migrated to lahore. They were born in Lahore, grew up in lahore, speaking punjabi and calling themselves punjabi. But then ppl ask, so whats your zaat, are you khokhar, dogar, randhawa, whatever, what do they say to that, and then they hear, oh so you are not REAL punjabis.

its the same in sindh, and you mentioned the karachi domicile issue very well. I dont know the situation now, but when for jobs you had to show an interior sindh domicile (meaning natiev sindhis basically) and same for education, they have reserved seats for natve sindhis in universities in Karachi, which basically means that someone with 85% from sakkhar can get into dow medical while someone with a 92% from Karachi can not get in, then we have an issue.

Now to be fair, there were reserved seats for Karachi students in the third rate rural universities, but those who went there, did not have the positive experience that the sindhi students coming to Karachi had.

when ppl talk about apmso and MQM, they forget what sort of circumstances not only led to the formation of such groups, but widespread support for them, until they moved from becoming a political representation party to the goons that they became.
