MQM gifts house to Mustafa

Yeah right. Where mqm got the money to gift house to him? Absolutely an official bribe either from government money or from bhutta. Previous mayor Abul Sattar Afghani did much better job than him, so he should have awarded/bribed better than him. This is how product of merit, middul class thinks. The reason given for free gifting of house is stupid.

The topic is suitable for Pak Affairs, but I can not post there because of restriction.

MQM gifts house to Mustafa

**KARACH: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has gifted a house to outgoing Karachi mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal as a token of appreciation for his exemplary services, which included Karachi among the world’s modern and developed cities. **

**Syed Mustafa Kamal served as Sindh Information Minister before taking charge of Karachi City Nazim in 2005. **

**Despite being mayor of the country’s largest city for four year, he does not have his own house. He has been living at a rented house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal town. **

**The MQM’s Rabita Committee gifted a house to Mustafa Kamal for working earnestly and honestly as mayor of Karachi for the development of Karachi. **

MQM chief Altaf Hussain has endorsed the Rabita Committee’s decision to award Mustafa the house.

one of my colleague who is the distant cousin of mustafa kamal is saying that it is a drama bazi.

he is corrupt person like most of the other politician.

but as a nazim he done a good job. though intentionally he ignored the non urdu speaking areas of karachi.

newayz on the overall basis we can rate him as a gud nazim.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

Is Giving house to him for doing his JOB pathetic? yes it sure is.

Is Mustafa Kamal dramey Bazz? yes he is - any news there? he is the chota of qaid-e-tehreek altaf bhai who can secure oscar for each of his performance beating foxes, leonardos and khans and amitabhs hands down.

Was he a good mayor and did a good job in Karachi? yes he did - even if it rubs salt to your wounds for one reason or another, fact will remain.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

No body talks about Altaf living in mansion... where did he get all the money? Do the donors (awam who 'donate' money) know how lavishly he is spending his time in 'exile' while the same awam/donors struggle day-to-day from all kinds of problems?

awam knows every bit of it and they still give the donations.

Basically thats is our (Pakistan's) problem. We know all about everything that our leaders doing wrong but we still support them. Lack of education.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

I think if the other Pakistani leaders/politicians would do the same work in their town /cities then Pakistan would be a better place to live in. No one is a saint neither Mustafa Kamal but he did work day and night to develop Karachi and we applaud him for that.

By bribing him house bought from stolen government money or through forced contributions (batta). That is good one.:)

The man deserves credit for the things he has done. If every public official worked like him in Pakistan, our country would be a changed nation in less than decade. He not only deserve house, but appreciation for work he has done. He is no more chor than those who are sitting in presidency, the senate, national and provincial assemblies, but unlike them he did good job for his city. 2 thumbs up for Mustafa Kamal.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

Yes, with Rs.100bn being spent annually on 'development' in Karachi, we should see some results. Ironically, the development budget for the whole province of Punjab is around 175bn.

Skewed allocation of funds (and subsequent expenditure on marketing oneself) should not be considered as an achievement.

There you go. Imagine how much actually spent on projects and how much went in to the pockets of mqm goons, specially the leader who is living a luxurious life in London with income from such ventures.

While some prejudiced Pakistanis are cursing him for developing Pakistan, he is getting accolades from around the world:

WEF honours Kamal ‘YGL’ award
Syed Mustafa Kamal former mayor Karachi has been named a 2010 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, which annually recognizes young leaders for their accomplishments and their potential impact.

The forum, based in Geneva, Switzerland, named 197 honorees this year from 72 countries. A candidate pool of nearly 5,000 individuals was examined by a selection committee.

Former City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and Mohammad Ali Tabba were among the 21 South Asians selected for the honour.

Kamal is first in Pakistan’s history to be rewarded for the award for public service.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

he did a good job? what about the thousands of citizens who were displaced because of his so-called improvements and never given a place to live elsewhere? they move from slum to slum. and yes these people ARE urdu speaking.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

Your last sentence just showed your prejudiced mindset.

prejudiced mindset? really? it’s not me who is saying this, people know that MQM works for the urdu speaking mostly. but in this case, even the urdu speaking were left behind

one of the slums im talking about:

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

So who are YOU to worry about him and Karachiites?.

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

^^ why shouldn't he worry about karachiites?

Re: MQM gifts house to Mustafa

It's ok for him to worry about Karachi if it is for Karachi's good. But unfortunately I doubt it.
Mustafa Kamal has solved decades old problems in Karachi. He has changed Karachi's face and is favored by millions. But still some people would come and abuse him based on interviews from a few individuals.
And his constant referring to "Urdu speaking people" shows the kind of prejudiced mindset he has. Whatever Kamal did would benefit everyone in Karachi, regardless of their ethnicities.

it's not right to say that im worried about karachiites. why would I be, i live in a country where all luxuries are provided, i shouldn't be worried....right?

but let me tell you, ive been to that area where the videos are taken, it's the oldest slum in the history of karachi (from what i researched). and still NOTHING has been done about it. the people have been told that a road will be constructed and you have to get out and no compensation whatsoever! and those people can barely afford living in those slums, how are they going to live elsewhere? the only reason i highlighted urdu speaking was because of Kamal's MQM affiliation. that's all.

For example what? Can you be more specific what he has done that no other mayor could have done by spending Rs. 100 bn?

If you guys beleive that he deserves credit, award him gold medal, a letter of appreciation or erect statue of him in Lalu Khet or build a memorial. Why bribe him house bought with government money or batta?
